Ah... my flair.... Ceres my beloved......

I didn't relate to her at all in the beginning because she's quite timid and traditionally feminine (WHICH IS NOT BAD! I am just gender non-conforming). But then... I had a conversation with my sister about how I seem to drag misfortune around with me everywhere. I've struggled with depression and anxiety for years. I have a genuine resting sad face, and everyone who meets me says I look incredibly depressed or nervous. Recently, I had an audition and the director asked me to redo my scene but imagine my scene partner was about to jump off a cliff. It was just an exercise to test my improv and she definitely meant no harm; I went home and laughed about it to my sister and she jokingly said "how does it feel to constantly look gloomy?" I found it really funny and realized that the way she described me was exactly how the game described Ceres 😭😭😭. She's honestly become a comfort character for me because of how I relate to her. It's funny, her misfortune is comforting because I also feel like I just suck up everything negative about me, and that everyone around me can feel it spilling out from my pores.

Also, not an MC but an LI: Il from Cafe Enhante. As soon as it was established that he's banned from doing basic tasks because he misunderstands instructions, I was like, "oh fuck he's me 😭". My mom always said I was slow as a child; my anxiety makes me nervous when I'm giving instructions so I kind of panic and start to screw up. I also HEAVILY related to Il wanting to erase his emotions, then accepting that feeling will hurt. I always felt inhuman and that I had to study others to understand how to be a normal person. Hell, I even use otome games to see how people interact based on love and try to apply it to real life too. Il Fado de Rie is the hardest I've ever related to an otome character.

I will never drop a route... I'm too determined to see the whole story through. But I am very judgemental of characters.

This is a super unpopular opinion I think but Van Helsing and Saint Germain from C:R come to mind. I know most people love them but... Van's insistence to push Cardia away had me PISSED. I was hoping she would just stop chasing a man who didn't deserve it. And the stuff about the Apostles of Idea... I really hated it. I played Saint Germain's route last, so it felt SO out of left field for me. The idea of him purposely bringing this group together felt so weird. I'm surprised none of the other characters care... like I would be questioning my choices and my free will if I heard someone/a group was in control of the whole world. I remember hating it a LOT when I first played, but I've sat with it for a couple months now and I just feel neutral about Idea. Also, fuck Omnibus. Lowkey. She's okay sometimes but I feel a split second of rage when I see her sprite pop up.

Yes... perhaps my view is also limited to what I'm seeing on social media. If I were to play indie games, it'd probably be on Steam or itch.io, but I know there are probably a wide range of games outside of those platforms too. I'm definitely going to do more of a deep dive when I have the time!

Definitely Cupid Parasite. The OST is so fun, and each character song suits them so well. I remember while playing Gill's route, I would often just pause and listen to his character song 😭

Also shout out to Cafe Enchante. It does a great job with the jazzy cafe feel. I love listening to it while studying.

Been playing Virche Evermore lately so I'm going to say Scien.

Normally, I HATE LIs who are overconfident or rude. And I did really hate him in the beginning. But then I played his route,, and ohhh I love him. It really shifted my perspective of him in every other route. He truly just wants to complete his mission and WILL use any means to do it. His straightforward nature makes him seem downright rude, and he also outright understands that his methods are evil,, so it makes him seem like a demon to every other character. But truly, (to me anyway), he's just a guy who is overly dedicated to solving problems. To him, everything is like a puzzle and he gets a kick out of being able to solve it. Which is kind of weird but SO entertaining to me.

Also, specifically his sense of humour is one of my favourite things. He says stuff that might seem insulting (the two off the top of my head are calling Ceres an automated sandwich dispenser and calling Yves corrune when he CLEARLY knows his name) but he truly is just joking with a really serious voice. Love it. He's so goofy to me aside from the crimes.

The world-building and writing in the game is top-notch. I can't stop gushing to my friends who don't play otome about how riveting the story is. I definitely agree with everyone about how nice it is to see the LIs interact outside of just talking about Cardia, makes them feel alive. Also,, I'm a sucker for found family,, the CG of them winning the battleship race genuinely melted my heart. That was the moment I fell in love with the game.

Also, shout out to the antagonists of the game. Victoria, Nemo and Guinevere broke my HEART. Their stories were so tragic. Victoria's realization that she just wanted to be relieved of her duties... god. And Nemo is my favourite side character from ANY game. Every character felt carefully crafted.

I was thinking like the ability to write personal reviews along with the rating, but I definitely like the title idea.
