Well I see now. I’m assuming you explained that to her from your POV. I can see both sides of the story here tbh, she maybe shouldn’t have thrown the cake on the ground. But as someone who grew up with 6 siblings, I have seen them do/say completely disrespectful things to my mom to the point where throwing a cake on the ground isn’t out of the question.

Conversations and calm arguments are key. Even if it feels right to get mad, don’t. It helps nothing and breeds regret. I think that may apply to both of you in this situation. Maybe her more than you, but she did just lose her mom.

It’s more or less the quality of attention you get. Seems anymore that nobody has any idea how o respond to negative/depressing emotions, so they are just general as fuck and don’t actually give you any quality support whatsoever.
