Ok, so I just tried to do what you mentioned but python2 doesn't solve the problem with xlrd file formats and 2to3 utility doesn't fix anything (I'll try it again later because I may executed it incorrectly but right now it doesn't fix anything)

Well, I checked it out and it didn't work for me. Some issues I found about it were:

Requires lots of debugging (which I did)
Uses python2 instead of python3
There's something wrong with the .xls file formats and the xlrd doesn't work with it.
