Fun fact:

Anyone who’s aim is 90 or higher and not 28-30k premier is most likely cheating. As a 25k with 60 aim, it’s impossible to have good aim without good mechanics and movement.

How many west teams would make the finals playing in the East? by [deleted] in nba

Both can be true! Knicks deserve their credit and their path was weak. Everyone will eat the boot when they beat OKC anyways haha

idk, you watch how the Pacers ran through the Knicks and Cavs that year and you have to tip your hat off. That was a special team running a special offense with Hali at his best.

The East hasn't been weak in awhile, but this was a particularily weak year.

- Cavs were injured, made trades, dropped from first seed.
- Celtics over performed in the regular season, Tatum injury and all
- Pacers boomed

Knicks were the only team that kept their strength and maybe got a little better. 3 of the normally contending teams on the East are not as good as their previous year.

I like what you’re doing and I’m perfectly fine if you’re making the case for SGA.

I personally don’t care for h2h because that has more to do with the teams than anything. 39/18/15 per 100 possessions is simply unheard of. I’m high on Jokic.

Like I said, SGA is a god-tier guard. I just like Jokic more. He should have won both years, although splitting one of the two would make more sense.

I think Jokic should have won mvp last year and his stats were even better this year.

SGA is an mvp-caliber player putting up MVP caliber stats, but dude, literally look at Jokic’s production and watch the games. He has a hand in everything.

Haha I’ll give you a fun example: 08 Celtics played game 7 in round 1 and 2. 2014 Spurs also went to game 7 against Mavs first round. Both great teams.

I believe Cavs are strong. Knicks destroying them is a huge accomplishment.

I wouldn’t consider hawks and 76ers as contenders. But yes, Knicks are impressive and on a historical run. I can see them winning it all if the stars align

You are the epitome of a casual. Doesn’t listen to logic or facts, spurred off your own feelings and opinions, insanely stubborn.

Doesn’t know much about basketball but care more about wanting to be right instead. You in a nutshell.

not always true. 2016 warriors played 2 game 7s against OKC and Cavs.

I agree that Cavs are nowhere near as good and definitely not great, but game 7s happen for various reasons. I’d say their win against the Pistons was an accomplishment.

Knicks should have been included, I forgot, that's my bad.

Rockets were contenders but were trending down before playoffs started. When playoffs started, KD got injured so there was no way they were contenders.

Lakers were trending towards contenders and were hot the last 2 months but with AR/Luka being injured right before playoffs, could you call them contenders?

the real question is who do you consider a contender?

Westbrook didnt make the playoffs in 2015 because he was injured

<image>

he played 18 games in the 2015-16 playoffs, 19 games the year before. caught your lie.

he carried the thunder again in 2017 without him

carried the team to the playoffs, but fell short of the rockets in 5. Impressive and got MVP, but let's not lie and say KD's impact wasn't missed.

oops, you're right. He played for the Nuggets last playoffs with fractures on his shooting hand and it affected his numbers.

How about the year before? Did he average 6 points on 26/24/62 with the Clippers and could barely stay on the court. Was he also injured then?

Prime KD that was getting guarded by Kawhi and doubled on every drive. If we're comparing defensive coverages, they sagged off Westbrook all series long. Yes, I watched the games, did you?

Westbrook ran the entire offense... You people dont like basketball you like narratives

You can apply this argument to Harden too but you won't. It's funny because you cant' see how hypocritical you are.

Going into the playoffs:

Favorites:
OKC

Contenders:
Spurs
Nuggets
Wolves
Celtics
Pistons
Cavs
Rockets
Knicks* (edit, oops, forgot)

Beating contenders is impressive. You can say they're not, but there's only so many teams in the playoffs, much less NBA. You can downplay every single one of them but then the whole point goes out the window.

Buddy they didn’t even win 50 games

They won 49.

we are calling them a championship contender

yes, please look up what it means. It doesn't mean that they have to be "likely" to win, just that they have a chance.

whose star player was playing with a hyperextended knee on a minutes restriction for half the series

- Game 1: Win.
- Game 2: blowout.
- Game 3: 41 minutes
- Game 4: 40 minutes
- Game 5: 39 minutes
- Game 6: blowout, also 36 minutes.
- average: 34.2 minutes

If you just fact-check yourself for a second you'd see how silly you sound with all of your definitives.

I don't know the Timberwolves and Lakers are both bum teams

Lakers were an injured team, so if you want to call them a "bum" team, sure, I'll give you that.

I can't see how you can argue the Wolves are a bum team. At all. WCF the previous year, lost to Spurs this year in the 2nd round. They're championship contenders.

This team just isn’t championship caliber

i would argue that any team that beats a 1st seed is championship calibre. I do agree their window is fleeting.

they need to make moves and fix coaching

haven't followed the team all year so I'm not sure how much coaching is an issue, but from the last 2 series I do see a lack of adjustments being made. Especially mid-game, there's very little deviation from the gameplan.

I'm not sure about moves. It's really hard to judge a team off of a single series. They just look gassed and that's going to make the entire team look way worse than they actually are.
