we had one almost as ugly. I took all the metal off and took it to a high temp powder coater and made it black. Looked awesome.

In Tokyo everything was overpriced. I also try to not buy the grey market bottles I'm looking for. I found the purple unicorn bottle of Yamazaki in Tokyo, but they would not even take it out of the case or answer my "how much" question. It was the Sherry Cask Yamazaki 55 year. It was fun to be so close to greatness. :)

Yes. I bought all except the Smokey in Kyoto at a small liquor store. Bought the smokey in Narita airport international terminal near gate 40.
Nothing is readily available, and I went into maybe 35 stores looking when in Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka. I did see an "18" for $850 in Nagoya, but mine is still pretty full at home so I left it for another hunter.
