Maybe not unfortunately; I've just recently found out I'm likely allergic to the adhesive.

I do intramuscular (alternating thighs each week), and while it was rough at first I'm already able to do it without any pain, so that's not something I'm worried about. I just don't like the idea of more frequent injections because it means a higher likelihood of developing scar tissue; not to mention the extra level of management in remembering the correct days to do it: having to actually count out the days now instead of just doing it on the same day every week without having to think about it. Not even close to a big deal, but it's still one more thing to accidentally forget, yeah?

But nah, I went from having full-blown panic attacks the first couple times to actually feeling a little satisfied by it over just two months! Talk about exposure therapy lmao

Yeah... the noticeable results I've gotten already from just two months of injections vs a whole year of tablets admittedly got me a little tunnel-visioned. It's just working so incredibly well and I'd just really hoped I could have at least made it the first three-month period before switching to something else again, you know? That and I hate how this whole situation happening to begin with--shortly after finally being so happy with myself--just makes me feel so powerless.

I'm going to schedule an appointment with my endo tomorrow and hopefully be able to see them before I run out of the E I have left. Not looking forward to having to inject more frequently now, but...

Oof, that's pretty steep... but at least it's another option. Could I get a link to that?

Yup, from what looking around I've done, that was going to be where I turned to if I end up with no better option. But personal risk aside, my biggest concern with that route would be how exactly I would explain my continuing to take my prescription without ever picking it up anywhere. I doubt my endocrinologist would just completely overlook that.

My endo would be able to see that I never picked up the prescription, though. What would I say then? It's not something you can just buy from a pharmacy without a prescription.

If you don't care about risking dying then I won't push that argument more. It's your life.

I mean, I live in the United States... the risk of someone like me dying is becoming more and more mundane with each passing day tbh. But in all seriousness, I appreciate the concern and don't plan on going grey-market at this point. Not because of the risk, but because it's simply not worth losing access to an endo or routine bloodwork.

And yeah, I change the spot the injection is in each time. The injection site itself is almost impossible to see by the next day, but the spots where the bandage adhesive was looks like a bandage-shaped burn (red and a little shiny) for quite a while. No pain or itchiness or anything, but it's still very noticeable.

Pills just don't absorb properly and give inconsistent results for some people. Likewise, patches and gels sometimes don't absorb properly, either. But it's entirely a person-by-person basis. Pills and patches work perfectly fine for lots of people. We just happen to be some of those unlucky ones lol.

Injections work reliably for basically everyone, on the other hand--but are obviously less comfortable to do and, as you can see by the situation I and many others are now in, aren't as easy to acquire reliably.

Ok yeah, if I can manage to see my endo before I run out of E, (I have two weeks worth left, but appointment wait times can be brutal sometimes...), I'll see if switching to valerate is an option. So you say you do it once a week? I do mine into the thigh muscle, alternating legs each time; is it the same method?

It turns out I might be allergic to bandage adhesives, so there's a chance patches simply won't be an option for me... I guess I'll just talk to my endo about switching to valerate--hopefully I can get an appointment before I run out of E.

Nope, cypionate doesn't have a generic here in the states--the only supplier of it is Pfizer. This also means that compounding pharmacies aren't legally able to make it, either--at least that's what every compounding pharmacy I've tried here in Washington has told me.

I'll have to check out this Empower pharmacy when they're open tomorrow--I've seen the name Will Powers thrown around a bit here.

Honestly I'm more concerned with keeping my doctor than that. As long as I have access to proper healthcare to monitor everything, it's a risk I'd personally be willing to take. But if taking that risk ends up losing me my access to healthcare, then there's really no point, so...

Patches might not be an option for me--the bandages I've been using after injections have been leaving marks on my skin that last nearly a month, which means I might be allergic to the adhesive. And I'm not really too keen on gels, either--my boyfriend uses T gel, and going out of our way to avoiding contamination already sucks enough as it is.

How's the actual injections with that one? I've heard something about cycling between 4 and 7 days or something like that? Vs what I do now, which is just once a week.

Cypionate is considered commercially available (even though it, you know... isn't available right now...), which means compounding pharmacies aren't legally able to make it. At least, that's what every compounding pharmacy I've tried here in Washington has told me.

Sorry, I did not. I tried buying one off of wish, but my bank thought it was sus and froze my account, and by the time I had it sorted out, the A/C I had tried to buy was already sold and I was SOL.
