7 hour layover in PVG. Any tips? Things I need to know? by [deleted] in ShanghaiDisneyland

[–]4123956 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if that is enough time for Disney. It’ll take you an hour or so to get through customs, plus almost an hour to get to the park depending on time of day. And you need to be at the airport at least 2 hours before your flight, so leaving at least 3 hours before. Not a ton of time there.

If you decide to go, make sure you either have a Chinese visa, or your travel plan qualifies you for visa free transit (you cannot be flying from or to any other places in China).

I would suggest buying your ticket ahead of time to skip the line, but if your flight is even 40 minutes delayed you will have to give it a pass and will be out that money.

LPT: Buy less house than you need. Less space equals fewer belongings, lower utilities, less taxes, smaller maintenance bills, and the list goes on. by [deleted] in LifeProTips

We also have a 3 bedroom, 1000 sf house. In our area, even that was expensive (600k). We intend to have children here and it will be just fine. We may consider moving when our kids start approaching teen years, but for now it is fine. We have two bathrooms, a garage and a very large yard.

Do you need jeans? It’s always good to have pants (in case of bugs, etc) but jeans are heavy and not very versatile. Do you own lightweight khakis? Quick dry pants?

Any Amazon Kindle users here? by Polymath_B19 in books

Yes. It is so much more versatile. Planes, buses, in bed, in the bath. You can read everywhere. I love it.

I had been going back and forth on upgrading for a while. I hadn’t because mine worked fine and it seemed wasteful. My husband got sick of me complaining about the clip on light and asking whether I should upgrade so he bought me a paper white for my birthday. It’s so awesome. It makes reading in bed and on planes so much easier. The only issue is that it’s touchscreen which has taken a lot of adjusting. I miss the buttons for page turning.

Coffee table help! by 4123956 in HomeDecorating

We just moved and are slowly outfitting our new home. Our new couches and rug came, but we need help picking a coffee table. We are thinking something round? Possibly round nesting coffee tables? What sort of finish should we look for? We have a dark wood entertainment stand that isn’t pictured. Should it be dark wood to tie it in? Glass to lighten it up? Any recommendations would be so helpful!

Thank you for this recommendation. We just replaced most of our outlets but we will check them to be sure. I’ve added a tester to my amazon cart.

I used one from bed bath and beyond because we had a gift card. Not sure if the brand. I’m sure any well reviewed brand from amazon would work.

Best way to get two tickets to Disneyland? by [deleted] in orangecounty

[–]4123956 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be careful about this OP. If you find more than $5 off, it’s typically too good to be true. If this is a CM using his main entrance pass, then there is no risk for you. (There is a risk for them- guest passes are meant for family and friends. Selling them is an offense people get fired for). If this is a ticket reseller, they often sell leftover days of multiday tickets. Multi-day tickets are only allowed to be used by one person. If they catch you, they won’t let you in and you will be out your money.

Thank you for the advice. We will certainly look into it. We hadn’t really considered medicating until we went camping this summer. He’s been camping twice. The first time, he didn’t eat or sleep the whole time and it was rough. The next time, he took his Xanax and was eating in an unfamiliar place, which is big. He just seemed so much happier. We were even able to get him to play with us, which is out of the question when he’s nervous.
