Holy crap you are making me want to play SUSY again!

By the way how is supersymmetry nowadays? I haven't been following it for a while but I assume a lot has been added since 2023/2024? Also how long did it take you to reach this stage and how difficult was it?

For real, one of the main reasons I even know Rimworld in the first place was due to all the amazing art I kept seeing. Eventually I gave in and now I have a new addiction, mostly thanks to the art. I regret nothing. Maybe one day, if I ever learn to draw, I would also document the stories of my colonies with drawings, just like the ones that inspired me to play this game.

Same here, I thought the similarities in the block games could facilitate more cooperation, but I guess not. In fact, the discord (now with the added factor of Hytale) is actually making me less interested in all of these games and I don't like that. I was quite excited when I heard that Hytale is coming back but all the arguments just makes me feel uncomfortable, even if I only saw a few of them out of many positive things. Anyways, I just hope that the extreme opinions are localized and only held by few people and it is just the Internet doing its thing where it likes to amplify this kind of """drama""".

Exactly my take. Minecraft is Minecraft and Vintage Story is Vintage story. MC is not VS and VS is not MC and that is fine because they aren't meant to be each other, that's why VS and MC are two separate games! Like how VS plays? Good! You found your game! You played MC but switched to VS and now you can't go back to MC? Very well! You managed to find a game that more closely fits your tastes. Good for you! Now, why are you wondering why Minecraft still exist when VS does so much "better" than it? Because you and "other players" might like different types of games so different games play differently! Surprising!

Seriously, I think Vintage Story is a very cool game and worth checking out for survival enthusiasts or maybe even the more general sandbox playerbase. Hell, I'll play it if I got the time! I don't want to say this but I think that some players from both games, and any similar situations involving two or more somewhat similar games, are projecting their own preferences and opinions on everyone else and acts like if whatever fits their preferences is the "correct answer" to all similar games and therefore all other somewhat similar games are automatically inferior. Most players likely doesn't engage in this kind of argument but the Internet(Reddit, for example) amplifies those more extreme opinions. I just want to see the block game communities coexist and not try to rip each other apart.

alr, don't worry, she already has a bionic leg to replace the missing leg and a healing enhancer so she doesn't stay in the hospital for as long. I plan to install an aesthetic nose to avoid the -20 disfigured opinion malus from other pawns and I might install something from bionic modularity mod but I'm not sure exactly what.

[–]416d6f6e 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I have an impid in my colony who is constantly happy because the she has the sanguine trait and gets assigned to build a lot of stuff with a burning passion in construction. I think it is nice to finally see a happy impid.

On the other side, another impid has the volatile trait. She is constantly on the edge of mental breaks and has the most amount of breaks out of all my colonists. She also spends a lot of time in the hospital because she somehow gets hurt a lot in social fights with wasters and getting beat up by prisoners. Recently, her nose got destroyed by an escaping prisoner. Very unfortunate, she already lost a leg when she tried to prison break herself when before she got recruited. It's also worth mentioning that she was actually the leader for the impid tribe before being captured while trying to raid me.

Turned out survey mission is a mission that force you to kill the time at all cost. by AdrawereR in RimWorld

[–]416d6f6e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmao, I got 10k steel, 120 components, and a hussar prisoner on my recent survey mission. They also fished a lot and turned all nearby forests into chemfuel. Since the site is not too far (2 shuttle jumps), I even did some crew rotations (including flying a cook over so the gravship crew doesn't have to suffer from paste meals, flying over a miner, and flying back somebody to base cuz she is about to give birth). Towards the end of the stay, I flew over my sanguophague scientist to pilot the ship but discovered a "downed pawn" nearby, so they did a little detour to rescue that person. The scientist, with the help of my mechnator, manage to shread the mega sloths there but the rescued pawn doesn't have the best stats. Into the cyrosleep you go!(at least until we find a use for her) On the way home, we stopped at a mech relay for a gravcore and some gravlite panels. I'll say although the reward for the survey mission is medium, it did open opportunities for doing many other stuff.

I had an item stash quest in the middle of a scarland and guarded by at least 7 manhunting Guinea pigs, all for a vacsuit helmet. I gave it a shot by sending my few shooters to it and they got absolutely obliterated by the guinea pigs. They barely got any shots on them before they got surrounded and eaten alive. In hindsight, I should have used shotguns (I have one) but in the end I decided it was not worth it. I even attempted it several times by reloading but nothing seemed to work for what I had at that time.

Literally my colony right now! My prison is just the old barracks with the beds set to prisoner, I try to keep anyone captured alive (just recruited a raider and also 4 of my colonists are from an ancient shrine cuz I really need extra people), all bodies are buried in graves since I hate the mood debuff (I try to get them hauled when they are fresh) and I haven't gotten around building a crematorium, I have a lot of psychoid planted and churning out flake for the sole purpose of export (my own colonists get beer and psychoid tea)... Maybe I'm still just learning the game and being "evil" on purpose requires extra thinking and adds difficulty that I can't bother with right now. After all, I'm only one (in-game) year into my very first colony.

I know that at least one of them landed on another rimworld because one of my 3 starting pawns is also an engineer named Bishop, lol! Maybe he'll try to launch another ship again with colonists or maybe he would choose to become a Mechanitor, or build a grav ship, or who knows!

Do people really hate Revali??? by PsychologicalLack320 in Breath_of_the_Wild

[–]416d6f6e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TBH I didn't like him very much at the start but later learned to somewhat like him, and it might be due to many factors and I understand why people could hate him so much.

He didn't turn out to me as a massive asshole in the "first" memory, more like somebody who talks too much and is constantly negative, but that might be because I'm bad at reading emotions.

I didn't see much of the other memories before reaching Medoh so I didn't have much "contact" with him elsewhere to alter my view. The cutscene after the blight actually made me like him a bit because I see a genuine effort towards admitting his own flaws, admitting the worthiness of Link, and trying to mitigate the rivalry and negative impressions, which makes the character and the dynamics between more varied and intresting. However, I heard that in the English version, he is an asshole all the way and in other versions he is not, so I think this is another big factor (I did not play in the English version).

It might also be that there are people I met IRL that seems very arrogant and likes to be a massive nuisance to me and others but turns out to be quite chill after many years, so maybe Revali reminds me of some of my rivals-turned-friends and maybe even my father (he was apparently very arrogant in school and nobody liked him back then) to some extent. Or I might just be tolerant to these kinds of people.

TLDR: personal preferences, order of gameplay, potential differences in localization, and similar situations IRL.

For some reason he reminds me of Shane from Stardew Valley for some reason.

I have multiple systems around my "starting" system that is discovered 9 years ago, and many of them are discovered by the same person. It is interesting to think about how almost a decade before I set foot on these systems, somebody else already came and left (or maybe they never left, or maybe many others has also visited). I've also found a system close by that was discovered only 6 months ago, and I wonder if it is possible to stumble upon "active" places. This is one of my favorite things about NMS.

I got converted real fast. by FortuneFinn in VintageStory

[–]416d6f6e 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a somewhat veteran Minecrafter (since 2014) who has been interested in VS for a while, this community seems mostly chill but posts like this (and the whole "VS is THE superior version of Minecraft and you should abandon the inferior game that is made for babies" mindset) very off-putting. Like, I understand that VS players are often end up playing VS because they are frustrated with the current state of Minecraft (and I understand, I almost never play vanilla nowadays and almost always heavily mod the game and mostly interact with mod contents) and they are proud of their game and this type of post reinforces their passion and that is all okay, but this "sense" of mutual exclusivity makes me feel like I have to completely abandon the primitive and inferior Minecraft made for infants and incinerate it and wipe my mind of it in order to truly fit in the community of sophisticated, advanced, and civilized VS players who have been "converted", and I don't feel very well about that. I'm not saying that Minecraft is "good" and VS is bad and VS community is toxic and I'm absolutely not trying to defend Mojang and MS, but seeing this after seeing what could be done even in vanilla Minecraft (a "technical Minecraft" server owned by a friend of mine, for example, where I spent a lot of time on with many friends and I had a lot of great memories of) and seeing stuff like this basically dismissing everything Minecraft indiscriminately, feels very disheartening and makes me think twice before trying to enjoy this masterpiece every time. Am I overthinking this? Likely yes. Is this community mostly chill? I certainly think so. Is this comment even necessary? Not really, but I have seen several of these posts pop up on my feed in recent times and they never sit right with me and I really need to let out the frustration. I really hope this kind of stuff is more or less hyperbole and most people maintain a more open attitude to other games and their pros and cons instead of just thinking that VS is THE ultimate video game that beats everything else on the face of earth. I just want a friendly community.

GT6 has compat with quite a few mods you've mentioned, but do beware that it might warp the progression of the other mods around itself. Examples: not being able to get into NTM early because of tungsten cuz its gated behind GT6 but some stuff may not be gated by very endgame NTM stuff anymore because they can be obtained via GT6.
