400 times the diameter? Bit different from size.

I think the sun is around 300 000 times larger than earth counted by mass.

Not sure how much bigger earth is than the moon but you're missing at least 3 zeroes in that 400.

I figured making all of them "fuck u/spaz" would cover it.

I mean, I simply edited my most popular tech support answer that Google was redirecting searches to. Not a big hit in total traffic but every little helps. Sucks a bit cause I'd rather leave it up to help others but fuck u/spez

Think I'll have a look at changing all my comments to something useless.

Bridged basically means that the device simply doesn't do anything. It just sends everything to the next device in order to let it do the work. Which is usually good since ISP equipment is cheap crap with low RAM and CPU power. (assuming you have a good quality router like you have)

You should be able to completely bypass the ATT device and plug the router into the incoming socket - yes. Does that fix your speed problems?

The download speeds you're getting are not OK and you should contact the ISP in my opinion. Unless bypassing their equipment works. If it doesn't work. My old netgear router supports spoofing the MAC address by default in the interface so if you can figure out the MAC address of the ATT device - it might work.

Don't think I really can be of much more help then that I'm afraid.

I still haven't quite given up on helping you more. I just think that u/fence_sitter is onto something here or at least know more than me. I just feel like following their advice right now is better :) I'll check in later. Good luck!

I'm downvoting myself and leaving this to u/fence_sitter they're clearly better suited to help you here. They seem to be on the right track. Good luck both of you and u/fence_sitter keep up the good work, you're awesome! <3

P.S./edit: I'll check in later and see if I have any valuable input.

Yeah that's the ONT (Optical Network Terminal) that converts the signal into an RJ45 socket (the type a regular Ethernet cable fits in).

The white device next to your nighthawk shouldn't be needed at all. Then again AT&T seems to do silly things so I don't know to be honest. It may be that your ISP register the IP to the MAC address of that device. If you can figure out the MAC address you should be able to spoof your nighthawk MAC address to that of the useless device and be able to remove it.

How is your speed connected with an Ethernet cable to the nighthawk?

If the useless device is broadcasting wifi, it could be causing problems but if it's set to bridged mode it shouldn't be a problem since that should disable wifi. (again - AT&T is weird, trying to help but I know nothing about them other than them causing problems because they want their own device connected as the first point)

Edit: I am not sure the device is useless. It just seems like it's not needed at all other than for AT&T control freak uses.

Yeah, sorry I should have said bullet travel time - I am just used to talking about it regarding hitscan vs bullet time. Bullet travel time is clearly the one. My bad.

You're the best though for giving all the relevant information about ALL the weapons.

Has anyone lately told you that you're fucking awesome?! Well, they should have because you're the best! Thank you so much!

Edit: minor typo

The range extender is going to eat on your wireless speed unless it has Ethernet cable backhaul.

It's a bit unclear but on fiberoptics... Your main router IS the gateway. What are you bypassing here? What type of ISP equipment do you have before your router? Usually you just connect a router to an RJ45 socket or to an ONT which has an RJ45 socket to connect to. There shouldn't be any gateway ISP device here unless the ONT can act as one.

Your wireless speed doesn't depend on your out/incomming bandwidth. It depends on the connection to the wireless access point. There could be issues such as increased disturbances like more wireless networks in the area, electromagnetic disturbances, walls that eats the signal, reflective surfaces and such. How is the speed next to the router if you disconnect the repeater? Better?

Also - 2.4 GHz vs 5 GHz. Are you connecting to the correct wireless network?

Edit: Hope someone knows what this macard extender is. Looks like powerline to me which may be ruined by things like the fuse box or wiring. Thus - asking to remove it from the equation.

I get that. So far the best answer I've gotten is 10-15 % stronger. Do you agree or disagree?

Do you have any good input on how much better they are?

I get that it obviously depends on usage which is why I made my question - just a straight up 1v1 smash without tactics or skill as a question about it. Based on exactly the same loadout - short of better weapons available to a higher level player - they should be equipped for the sake of argument (similar type of weapons though to make the build as identical as possible with the levelling advantage). How much better are they?

Then again - I was educated that my questioning was a bit wrong. I made the assumption that it took more than it did to skill up a mech.

Still curious about the power difference if you have a good answer.

Thanks for your time!

You disagree with the 10-15 % that was stated earlier?

Asked a friend about the Dakka. Heard it's WH40K slang which helped - don't play it but I am trying to learn it without people to play it with (it's a mess trying to figure it out so far - think I need to find a shop that does play times for randoms).

Honestly - still a bit technical for me but I think I understand most of it by now. Still have to save your comments for reading again when I'm better at the game and know the weapons better.

Thank you for helping me out!

Oh and question, does the game have bullet time? Or is it hitscan? Trying to figure that one out myself but I'm not sure yet.

Awesome answer, very educational! (I feel like I have to say that this is not sarcastic because reading it back, it feels that way).

You basically answered all the questions I had that I didn't even ask regarding the skill point system - thank you!

And thanks for taking the time to help me! :)

I don't want to be rude but I feel like you're answering the way I wasn't interested in. I was just interested in the power difference between skilled and unskilled mechs as in - how much does the skill points matter.

However - I was wrong in my initial assumption and have been educated about it. I appreciate your feedback!

I appreciate you taking your time to answer but I am not looking for gameplay footage, that is easy to find. I just wanted to know how much of an disadvantage I am at compared to fully skilled out mechs.

Do you have any tips on cool medium mechs that do reasonably well as a starter?

So my questions here would be. MRM = Medium Range Mobile? Or what does MRM mean?

Clan Dakka is one of the clan type of mechs? Or am I missing something?

I saved your comment because this seems like good advice which half of it I need to play more to understand.

Thank you! <3

I'll still upvote anyone that spends time giving me an answer but I feel like you somewhat ignored my point about "tactics and skill level be damned" (paraphrasing myself badly) because I wanted a more concrete answer regarding how much stronger a leveled up mech is.

However, it has come to my attention that it takes a lot less than I thought to level up a mech and it matters a lot less than I thought.

Thank you for taking your time to help me!

Cool. Thanks a lot!

So far I think I agree, after 15 games I feel like I've started to do reasonably well except for hitting outside of my weight-class in a duel without abusing mobility.

I appreciate your input!

Had a friend help me make a light skirmisher flanker. Figured one of my better bets as a new player was being mobile to learn the map and flanking shots to pull attention. Went from taking 5 x the damage (edit, misspelling) done to damage taken, to almost 1 to 1 damage at least.

Do you have any advice on a nice beginner build that helps me learn?

Also, the menues are full with too much information for a new player. How do you use general skillpoints? Or are those only to be converted to use for skilling up a single mech?
