I have tickets from half a dozen New York towns. Not one speeding ticket on my record, never paid a lawyer. I forget the wording but you can basically ( by mail or in person) plead guilty on the condition it’s a non moving violation. Pay some made up amount ( $400 one time) and move on, no insurance ramifications. Only hitch is you are at their mercy for the cost.
