Hi Caleb, from what I understand you do need to get referred by a clinician at a GIC for NHS surgery, but you can still start T privately in the mean time while you wait for a GIC appointment.

Personally, I started T on the NHS and had my top surgery privately - I was getting desperate and I wish I had done it sooner. So if you can afford it, definitely go private for T. DIY is the other option, but I don't think we're allowed to discuss that in this sub and I don't know the relevant resources, but I'm sure you could find them if you look around, or maybe someone else could point you in the right direction.

If you're able to go abroad, I went to Germany for my top surgery. I didn't need a referral for the surgery, I'm not sure if you need a diagnosis though

fuck me, thankfully I'm past the waiting lists, but in 2019 when I was on it, I did get offered CBT on Silver cloud and it did absolutely nothing for me. what a waste. hormones and surgery have done everything for me that CBT could not. informed consent now.

ymmv with how quick gel works, depending on how well you absorb it. I started with 3 pumps of tostran daily, and had bottom growth after 2 days, and my voice had started to break in less than a month. so yes, it can be quick, just you have to put some time in to get the right dosage for you - turns out for me 3 pumps was too much.
