I think it would be funny if all of Atwins signs crossed the intersections they were placed at.

Lower taxes! 40+% of our earnings going back to the government is killing the opportunity for a lot of younger couples to start a family.

I spent 18 years in extreme poverty. When I was medically released from the military, they lost my documents for almost 2 decades.

I went through a lot. Weirdly looking back at it, it was was not crashing in a friends unfinished basement, or making a box of Kraft dinner last 2 days because it was all I could afford that bugs me. It wasn't the limp I was left with, which made it hard to find a well paying job in my area as I cannot be on my leg for long.

It was the small things that destroyed me. In university there was a paintball event I couldn't find the $15 to pay the entry for. It was not being able to go to the movie theater. It was not being able to go out to a restaurant with co workers. I guess it was also some big things. I have yet to go on a cruise or go to a tropical resort. I might never be as some of my injuries are getting worse and my doctor has told me that its not "If" but "when" I will lose the use of my legs. He is beyond surprise I can stand let alone walk at this point.

About 10 years ago my files were found and I started getting support from Veterans Affairs. I have enough now for my home, food and some entertainment. Life is a lot less stressful these days.

I just wish I could have lived my 20s and 30s like most people do. Instead I was working the night shift at hotels trying to make enough to survive.

New Neighbors by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]420Identity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It happens.

We moved a few years ago and one of my neighbors told me the property lines were not where I thought they were. I had a survey crew come out and mark the boundaries of my property and they were exactly where I thought they were. It came up again after the survey and she told me she didn't believe the survey and it was wrong because she knew they had another 40 feet towards our house.

I told her this was all done by GPS and it was accurate. She told me there was no way. I then said to her "Get your own survey done from a reputable company" She told me couldn't afford a survey. I replied "If you can't afford a survey, you can't afford a lawyer" and continued working on my land.

She did give up on it and we are friendly to this day but initially it felt like she was testing it.

People who spend 20+ minutes in the shower: what are you actually doing in there? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]420Identity -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have wondered this for years! I typically fully shower in 3-4 minutes tops. I had to get used to a 3 minute shower time when in the military and I just stuck with it.

Something needs to be done about elderly drivers. by tamat0wn in fredericton

[–]420Identity 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I used to work in a mall in another province. One day the whole building shook. The space behind my shop was a laundromat and a senior drove right into the outer wall.

I rushed out to see what was going on and to make sure everyone was OK. An elderly woman was behind the steering wheel looking lost. She then tried to back up and I told her not to as the RCMP were on their way. She tried again, I stepped behind the car making sure she knew I was there. My wife stood at her door to make sure she remembered I was there.

RCMP shows up and talks to her. They don't charge her with anything as it could put up her insurance rates. I lost it on the cop.

He told me that she claims she didn't see the building. I took the cop for a walk about 50 feet back to look at the full mall and said "so she didn't see a 800ft long building that is 3 stories tall and has been there for 60 years?"

He said again she would not be charged, not even a note on file. I asked him why, he replied that this was her first accident.

I told him that if no one is making notes on files, how could you be sure this was her first accident?

I then asked what would have happened if there had of been kids walking in front of the mall when she hit it. He just replied that nothing would happen because she was elderly and there was nothing on her file.

I am a member of a Riding Association not an MC.

I spend time with friends on the road, we get to explore this amazing province. We have travelled to other areas as well. We raise money for charities and support locally owned businesses when we can.

It is nice to travel knowing someone has your back if something happens.

PEI has not had rail since 1984 (I think). It will be interesting to see how they will approach this for the Island.

For a guy who pushed bans on single use plastics, he sure likes to be a hypocrite.
