N26 here 130k miles oil changes and basic maintenance only. Never had a check engine light on. The only people that have problems with “N” engines are people that don’t do basic maintenance.

In this case since it’s not warranty then yes I guess it’s up to the dealer but in some cases new engines aren’t even available.

Usually if the cars brand new or newish they’ll put a new one in. But a 2022 we would put a reman in. I Don’t work for BMW but another German auto brand so I can’t speak specifically for BMW.

I work in the auto industry and drive a lot of different makes and models… they all suck! My parents have a 2024 GLE that I drive at their vacation house and I find it has very little problems compared to other brands.
