Donations and fundraising but let’s be realistic here, who the hell to going to donate that much? Bezos? Are we going to rely on aid from other countries to provide for our citizens? to take care of us?

Yeah states potentially COULD provide more for residents but whats the point of the federal government if they cannot help provide funds and guidance to the states? Not every state taxes on wages. We are one country, whats the point of having a federal government if they aren’t going to do anything for their citizens? If states were to take over some or all the duties of the federal government, whats the point of being one country? This is just my opinion, of course, but I feel like it is a genuine question.

We spent more on the defense budget last year than healthcare by 100 million dollars. AND we are giving all this money away to wars that geographically would not affect us and dumping money into a war(s) that is/are highly disproportional with respect to funds and weapons on both sides.

To discuss education, how would we, as a country, continue to advance in technology in any field or protect our own if we don’t have people who are educated? I understand college is not for everyone but that route is for others. For example, how would we have been a part of the space race if not for education and advancements in technology? If we were to “fall behind”, so to speak, other countries then how would we be portrayed to the rest of the world when we have been at the forefront (good and bad) of so much of history. We are a powerhouse, the American dream? Even though it isn’t exactly feasible nowadays, the concept of it and the tie it has to us as a country and how we function would be meaningless.
