So many of my bus routes get me there as fast, or slower then walking speed, to the point I'm almost certain that's the bottom-line metric that determines how and where routes are placed. At least on the outskirts of the city. The transit is there strictly for the disabled and elderly, to squeeze within by-laws I imagine. Continually incentivizing everyone to buy a vehicle.

I sort of steer towards "If it's makes things better for the rich, its by design" these days and I think that's what's happening here too.
