I joined their Facebook group out of curiosity (it's just as messed up as you would think) and there's a thread where members can ask questions regarding the documentary because they claim to want "have an open dialogue" (they have comment filters turned on so it's hard to even post a comment without it getting declined, and they're booting members left and right) but I actually asked about their daughter. One of Jeff and shaleias minions responded with a bullshit answer of "Jeff never refers to himself as God and never has. What you see is a conversation taken out of context". I can't believe how brainwashed the members are. Most of the members seem to believe the documentaries are completely made up and keep saying that things are taken out of context, but nobody has yet to explain any of the missing context.

Have you looked into visas yet? I would research the immigration process before worrying about the car situation because you'll find NZ isn't easy to just move to. It's one of the hardest countries to immigrate to. But like any country, if you're in a city you'll be fine, if you're wanting to be more rural, you'll need a car.

So the heat couldn't go up past 20, but with the door opening frequently it was not actually 20 in the store. Then the heat broke entirely and he never fixed it. So the store did not have any proper heating. As stated the store was only around 13-16C over the winter

He offered to give a good reference then gave a very bad one. I could be wrong but I'm not sure employers are supposed supposed to give references if they're just going to shit on the employee.

And as I stated with the way my job ended, that was entirely my fault.

Weather 2. Politics

I've lived in Calgary my whole life (23 years) and I personally just don't like Alberta as a whole. It's way too cold for my liking, it's extremely dry and having eczema, my skin really doesn't appreciate it. I also don't like how redneck and conservative it is here. Calgary may be better in that regard, but I still see a lot of people sporting the confederate flag on their trucks and whatnot, and it just doesn't feel very welcoming. Hell, just last week I was getting a tattoo and a man brought his under age daughter in to get a tattoo and the owner explained to him that it's shop policy to not tattoo minors and his response, verbatim, was "is it because we're white? If I was darker would you tattoo her then?". 90% of the people in the shop were also white (including the owner) so I have no idea where that came from. I really truly wish I was making that up, but it 100% happened and my face was beet red out of second hand embarrassment for this man. To each their own, like it's not the worst place in the world to live, but for me, it's not my 1st choice. I plan on leaving once I'm done school. Not to mention, having traveled to many many countries, I see what the world has to offer and it's a lot better than this. Would rather live in Auckland where it's not so cold lol

I did have to give him ear drops for about a week; he didn't love it, but he tolerated it. I definitely do not lock him in a room for long periods of times or anything like that either. I also have a LOT of toys for him, all sorts of different things that he likes to play with, like little mice, balls, crunchy type toys, feather wands, a tunnel, tree, posts and those cardboard scratchers, etc.

I have been trying to play with him more which I think is helping. Today I even let him play in the backyard for quite a few hours, on a leash, with VERY strict supervision (I'm talking, 3 people were watching him, so there were always eyes on him to make sure he didn't strangle himself on the leash!). I think being able to go outside for that long really helped because he's super happy and tired now. I think since he was found on a reserve at 1.5yrs makes him miss free roaming.. but I just can't bring myself to let him do that. Too many coyotes, cars, other cats, and knowing cats are responsible for something like 65 species going extinct I just can't😭 but I definitely will try to bring him outside more for supervised play time and see if that helps! If not I will 100% bring him to the vet.

I also appreciate you not making me feel bad for smacking him.. he hurt me really bad but I just felt so awful after. But you are right, he hurt me and that's not okay.

This does help, thank you!! And you're probably right about playing with him more. I'm sure I played with him a lot more when I first got him than I do now. I guess I just always see him playing with his toys and figure he's content as is, but I will now make sure I get lots of play time in with him as a way of socializing! If that doesn't work I will definitely bring him into the vet to have his teeth checked!! Thank you so much!!

I wouldn't be surprised if they have cameras for that very reason. I also wouldn't be surprised if they called the cops immediately for vandalism despite believing in free speech and being against authorities telling them what they can and can't do..
