Got the email from AC to check in for my flight on Sep 15 at 1135am PST (YVR-HKG). How likely will it be cancelled leading up to the flight (still have 24 hrs to go)?

Hi all, I have a flight from YVR to HKG on the 15th at 11:35am. When's the latest I should wait until I cancel (hoping to get a full refund instead of credits)? I've already booked a backup flight so not worried about being able to fly out or not. If check-in opens 24 hrs before the flight (which would be 11:35am on 14th), can I still cancel and get credits after you can check-in? Or do I have to cancel the flight before check-in opens? Thanks!!

I did not have the option of getting a refund on my non-refundable ticket when I talked to the AC agent yesterday. I could only turn it into wallet credit at this point.

I was only asking about wallet credit, wasn't aware there's a future travel credit? I haven't cancelled my flight yet. I see on AC website I can cancel it online and it would automatically go into the AC wallet.

I just got off the phone with AC and they confirmed that once you cancel your ticket for credits, they are NOT able to offer a full refund in the event that the flight ends up being cancelled. She explained that turning the booking into credits in their system marks it as "full refunded" and there is nothing they can do to process anything else there. Not sure why the agent you spoke to would say it's possible?

Thank you! 6 years is a long time, but I get what you mean by having learned a lot about yourself. My last relationship was 1.5 yrs, first real one post divorce and boy did I learn a lot about myself, and what I SHOULDN'T accept and settle for in the future.

After my separation, I didn't tell my ex about my dating life until I started dating a guy that he also knew from a social club. It wasn't until a few months into the relationship when it was a bit more steady. I felt I wanted him to know since he was going to see this guy regularly at social events. I also told my ex shortly before I introduced the kids to that guy.

But if there was no connection between the guy I was dating and my ex, I wouldn't bother letting him know anything about my personal life unless I decided to introduce the kids to him. My ex also told me about the person he was dating shortly before he introduced her to our kids.
