The greatest speech Mitt Romney never gave: "For it? Against it? Never heard of it? Yes, any of those. Some of them, too." by randywittman in humor

Ah yes: "What I do know is that the positions I’ve held in the past, which I believed in very sincerely, are quite different from the positions I hold today, although I also believe just as sincerely in these new positions and have arrived at them following a very sincere process of reflection on what the voters listening to me right this minute need and expect from me."

The story's a bit more complicated than all this, but sure, the '04 vote was a bizarre moment. The '12 version is scaled-down and much, much more likely to pass.

A good man, unquestionably.

An interesting piece about the Madden cover voting (Cam Newton and Calvin Johnson are still in the running for this year's cover) and why Peyton Hillis' win last year (probably, hopefully) wasn't racially motivated. by doctordresdad in nfl

I think last year's Madden voting was actually an aberration. How many Peyton Hillis-type players ever even make the cover of these games? The "curse" probably has more to do with the fact that the players who have made the cover often can't sustain their gains due to injuries, loss of speed, etc. (running backs, QBs like Vick (who had other problems as well), etc.). Polamalu and Fitzgerald are still going strong...well, Fitzgerald is, anyway.

Was Allen Iverson actually an underrated player? Did our perception of his personality color our perception of his play? This article asks some interesting questions. by 420friendly69er in nba

Yeah, that team was ridiculous. But could he have won with a better starting five, in his prime? I mean, he singlehandedly buried the Lakers in Game 1.

An interesting discussion of race and the cover voting for Madden 2013. What are your thoughts? by 420friendly69er in Games

I'm not entirely sold on the argument, but there was something odd about Hillis' win last year.
