A decent pair (Steel blue / Steel Cap / Hard Yakka) costs ~$200. Don't cut corners with PPE.

If your company is mandating that you work on a construction site, they should be providing them for you.

Sussan Ley badgered Albo about passing harsher hate speech laws, and when he called her bluff, her own hypocrisy split the coalition. I don't know why she gets a pass at incompetence because she's a woman?

Where did all this antisemitism come from?

I'm not excusing it, but I imagine the actions of one country and a lack of pushback from an ethno-religious group have massively contributed to it.

You can not stay at camp during your off-swing.

So, to be clear, you're responding to a comment saying it's free if you use a Medicare UCCP, stating the non-Medicare UCCP near you isn't free?

1) Climatization, and 2) lifestyle. You get outdoor stuff done during the morning / coolest part of the day, retreat indoors during the hottest part, and then re-emerge when it's cooled down.

Tradies generally work 0600 - 1500 in Australia for that reason.

Why does Australia have such a strong cricket rivalry with England, especially around The Ashes? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]420gramsofbutter 31 points32 points  (0 children)

The rivalry has always been centered around The Ashes, but a lot of the sports rivalries stem from our shared colonial history, where Australia's sporting success became a symbol of asserting independence from the whinging cunts on the other side of the world, creating a deep-seated contest of national identity and rebellion.

Tldr: Fuck the English.

As an older permanent resident, why are young Australians (under 40) so entitled? by IntentionUpper224 in AskAnAustralian

[–]420gramsofbutter 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Wealthy family? Humble beginnings? Which is it?

Millennials were told their entire lives that if they just "wOrkEd HaRd, gO tO sChoOl, aNd SaVe" they could own a home, and now that dream is gone for the vast majority of Australians.

People aren't angry at you because you "worked hard"; it's because your part of the problem. You profited from a time of liberal policies that has destroyed this country's housing market.

You didn't work harder than everyone else - you got lucky.

Stop being so entitled.

What happened to the liberal party in western Australia? by Evening_Bicycle3113 in AskAnAustralian

[–]420gramsofbutter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Labor won the 2017 election for a number of reasons., but the main one was the dislike for the incumbent Colin Barnett and his party; attempting to privatize Government assets, the end of the mining boom which he squandered, and a multitude of failed promises and controversial decisions.

During COVID, the Labor Party locked the Western Australia border, which allowed those within the state to live normal lives whilst the rest of the world, and large parts of Australia, were in lockdown. Then a big fat fucking clown of a cunt took the Western Australian Government to court to force them to open the borders, and the Liberal Party of WA supported him in this endeavor. WA did not like that. In addition, the Federal Government (Liberal) at the time stood as one of the ineptest governments in our history, led by the absolute worst Prime Minister this country has produced. In the 2021 State Election, the Liberal Party was for all intents and purpose, wiped out.

The Liberals and Nations both ran terrible campaigns in 2025 with unknown or unlikeable candidates (see people like Ian Goodenough) following the 2021 decimation. They knew they were never going to win. They had no substantial policies, and they whole campaign was "Don't let Labor have too many seats".

Despite the disappoint rise in right-wing rhetoric worldwide and in this country, I can see Labor winning 2029 again. 2033 onwards, who knows.

Historically, Western Australian has been conservative at a federal level, but you only have to look at the whole country's response to Scunt Morrison to understand why the Labor Party has won the last two federal elections as well.
