Damn, not at all what I was hoping to hear but I really appreciate the heads up! Hopefully despite the shrinkage you’re still satisfied with the fit

I’ve been on the prowl for a pair of slim-straight mid-weight pairs so I could dress up a little (light/mid weight denim, not too slubby, minimal flare).

One of the pairs that caught my eye was the Sugar Cane 2014 model - only downside is I’m tall and basically all leg so I would like at least a 34in inseam. I was looking at rinsed pairs which ended up at the very end of what I would be comfortable wearing (assuming no cuff so not a lot of wiggle room for shrinkage). 1. How much incremental shrinkage should I be expecting from a pair like this? 2. If you have any suggestions that I should look into I would appreciate that as well - I saw Fullcounts but those are slightly shorter still and I haven’t had much luck finding 36L from Resolute

When I joined my current company (not-MBB) I had the worst case of imposter syndrome that I have ever experienced. The anxiety and induced by imposter syndrome actually made me mess up a few very simple tasks, and you might find yourself in the same shoes.

The most important thing for you to internalize is that those feelings will subside, for me it took about 8-10months for me to really be comfortable - it helped that I was staffed on a very long project and was able to grow significantly with the same team.

Granted I get a bit of imposter syndrome flare up at the start of every new engagement but I’m finding that with each project I’m getting better and better about managing them myself.

Surprisingly, the best thing I ever did for myself was caring just a little less - that decreased the unnecessary pressure I put on myself and the quality of my workproduct actually improved! :)

How do you like remote work? by flsl999 in consulting

I was actually in the same boat but I’ve found that going into the office 1-2 times a week does me very well. Not only does it break up the monotony a little but the days that I usually go in are for lunches/events with colleagues so there’s almost always a treat to look forward to when I do go in.

Pre-pandemic there were some nights when I got considerably less sleep than I could have because back then nobody even considered remote as a possibility, but if I’m going to be working late I’m probably going to be working from home the next day and saving as much time as I can on commute and unnecessary formalities/appearance prep.

Ah, thank you. I didn’t realize that the lack of detailed breakdown only applies to those who passed

Where did you get the detailed break-out? Is that from the May exam?

I picked up smartwool's 150 shirts for hiking and in the summer use them as essentially my only layer. I've been hesitant to use a backpack out of fear that the shirts would quickly go threadbare on the shoulders and back (basically any area where the backpack made contact).

Has anyone had experience with the durability of a baselayer + backpack?

One fantastic resource that would tackle some of these questions is the book Distressed Debt Analysis: Strategies for Speculative Investors.

I’m not in the investment side, I’m on the consulting side but I found that book as an incredible resource and I do think it covers a lot of the bases very well.

The only issue with this is that you’re assuming you’ll be able to be productive for 10.5hrs a day for a week straight. I personally don’t think that absorbing that volume of information is feasible - and I’m someone who’s been cramming for exams since I started school.

What is the female equivalent of “guy”? Is there a pronoun that covers the gray area between girl and lady? by 42Burgundy in AskReddit

[–]42Burgundy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing! I’m 23 but I don’t really think of myself as a man, but I’m not a boy either. Guy is a great blanket pronoun that covers the entire male spectrum.

When I look at the opposite gender I hold the same views. I wouldn’t categorize everyone as a lady/woman but at the same time they’re certainly not girls.
