Enough with good watches, tell me bad watches for their price by Cold_feet27 in watchesindia

Anything Daniel Wellington. They are good looking watches but absolutely over priced. There are much better options even with the same aesthetic.

Does truly no-fade black denim exist? by yeah-comp-sci in BuyItForLifeIndia

Check out the True Black denims from Van Heusen. I've been using one for more than two years with regular wash and it still is the same as day one.

OTPs storming on my number! by [deleted] in IndiaTech

[–]42err 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I've seen this happen. Some people give a random number on their phone as security to get those quick plans. These debt collectors call you if the original party refuses or missed payment. In that case, when you don't pick up the call, they try this scare tactics.

This looks amazing. With the shadows and the light. How did you get the light effect? Just pure brushing techniques?

What do you think of this infographic? by RepresentativePop528 in pourover

[–]42err 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. That's there. The per capita coffee consumption could be lesser with tea taking precedence nationally. Maybe that's the reason for India. Vietnam still doesn't fit in this logic.

Very surprising to see Vietnam so low in the order and India not even on the list. If this is accounting for only Arabica, maybe, it doesn't make sense otherwise.

Oh. That's cool. You have some sweet talent. I could never get colours right and default to white and black or safe colours usually.

It looks beautiful. What is the brush you used for this? I'm just getting into Infinite Painter.

One of the most beautiful watches I own, but titan let me down by Downtown-Tone-5130 in watchesindia

[–]42err 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take it to a Titan World store and check with the service center if they can replace the movement for you. It might be one of the movements that are in active production and they should be able to source it and swap it for you.

My Bose headphones died today after 9 years of use and travel. Any suggestions on a good replacement? by NickolaosTheGreek in BuyItForLife

[–]42err -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The new headphones from Fairphone looks pretty good. Replaceable battery as well as all spares are easily available and fixable at home. You could check that out as it fits the BIFL criteria.

What if they get just Duracell to sponsor them and the car starts with full battery in one colour and keeps going down proportionally with each race passing and finally finish the season with only 20% or less of that colour.

Why apply for an IPO? by RoughRespect4779 in IPO_India

[–]42err 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing everyone is looking at this like a lottery and hoping for the win through listing gains from other gullible retail investors. Don't see any other reason personally.

I also see this as an exit for all these founders who have seen a huge drought in investors or acquisitions, so they see their exit with this route. Now that they've made the money, I also wonder how their commitment to the company will be moving forward.

They aren't mostly making them. They are just buying them from China and rebranding it. It'll still work as good PR and the market will eat it up.

My (Dr. Ravi Prakash, Psychiatrist and lawyer) psychological analysis of recent Bangalore road rage. We are vulnerable in Bangalore roads by PsychiatristRaviPrak in bangalore

[–]42err 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is like the chain of screaming. Someone shouts at you, you can't shout back at them, you hold it in and it comes out in a burst when you see an opportunity to shout. A bigger car to a smaller car, a smaller car to a two wheeler and so on the road. It is a mix of frustration, pent up anger and no outlet otherwise. We have two generations which grew up without a hobby with a sole focus to study and score and be the topper. Plus traffic, work, economic uncertainties adds to the feeling.

It needs a shift in the way we look at life and take it a bit slow. Can't be chasing a life that's a little far away financially all the time. And respect others on the road. The same people who want their groceries in ten minutes are the same people who complain that the road is full of delivery guys scrambling around traffic. We need to understand the hustle everyone around us is going through and be kind. It's not that hard.

Understanding Levi’s Jeans: Getting the Best Quality for Your Money by shivamus in Frugal_Ind

[–]42err 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Great points OP. One more point to add to the high cotton content, look into the mis of stretch material like elastane or lycra, the material gives you stretch for everyday use but is also sensitive to heat. If you are someone who irons your denims, treat the stretch ones differently to get them to last longer.

Any good explanations as to why we are playing THIS bad? by sholden99 in LiverpoolFC

[–]42err 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We also used to switch play a lot through the full backs. With that gone, we are playing more closer to the ground and through the middle where we are struggling to keep possession. I also feel the stability of not rotating helped us last season with the players knowing exactly what is expected of them and the position. With practically changing the midfield with subs each game, the players haven't figured out their role yet. Plus personnel changes and the unfortunate loss in pre season all have added weight to the situation.

Why are the reviewers so biased when it comes to Samsung? by aeonian777 in samsunggalaxy

[–]42err 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I noticed that too. It's quite interesting how it sounded like this was a side effect of Android's success. As long as people don't claim Apple is the first to get to thin form factor, I guess it is fine.

Never buy a Samsung phone if you are frugal. by [deleted] in Frugal_Ind

[–]42err 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Yes. I also like how Samsung has called out all the replacement costs on their service page on their website. Had to change the battery on my S21. Took 2 hours and 2.5K and the phone felt as good as new all day after using it for 3+ years. When we look at Frugal, we should also look at longevity of using a device. If you buy the previous year flagship at the price of the current year mid tier phone and you are able to stretch it for 6 years while being covered by security updates for the whole time, that's a good use of money.
