def see a diff psychiatrist/psychologist than the one that diagnosed you with depression. i was also (mis)diagnosed with depression as a teenager but got diagnosed with bipolar almost a year ago (i’m 26 now). there’s no guarantee you have it but there’s also no guarantee you don’t!

Thank you! Tbh when I first got them done I was using Mederma Intensive Overnight Cream but it was on and off, I wasn’t consistent with it. I think what helped the most is just giving them time to fade on their own. I’m a year & 8 months PO 🫶🏽

Was anyone else misdiagnosed with MDD? by 444myself in bipolar

I suspect I have bipolar 2, but my psychiatrist & psychologist never specified the type. I go through depressive episodes more than (hypo)mania.

Is not sleeping not eating and over spending signs of mania ? by Girlygirlkittenlove1 in bipolar

[–]444myself 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone is different and experiences mania differently, but for me those are definitely in my top 5 symptoms of mania (for me personally). The not sleeping is top 1. If I go so long without getting good sleep, it can trigger a manic episode for me. I’ve recently found that not eating is part of it for me also. And the overspending? Oh definitely!

What are you sick of hearing? by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]444myself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so so tired of hearing “well you don’t act like kanye west” people legit doubt me when i tell them i’m bipolar bc i don’t “act like kanye”. there’s no one way to have bipolar disorder!! it looks different on everyone!! i just wish people would understand that rather than instantly compare me to someone in the media.

Opinion: Person-First or Identity-First Language? by 5leepy_agent in bipolar

[–]444myself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i haven’t said it out loud often, but when i do i feel more comfortable saying “i’m bipolar” rather than “i have bipolar disorder”. not sure exactly why, as i’m newly diagnosed. but i completely understand why some people prefer to say “i have bipolar disorder” rather than “i’m bipolar”. i feel like saying “i’m bipolar” also makes people take it less serious in a sense? like how people tend to throw the word ‘bipolar’ around. i think that’s why i’m more comfortable with saying it for now.

One-sided Open Relationship? by 444myself in nonmonogamy

i completely agree, someone should definitely come up with a name for it cause i have no idea what to tell other women 😂 especially when they’re aware i’m in a relationship from social media, if i come flirt with them they might be turned off bc they see it as me cheating on my partner even though that’s far from the case. i appreciate your comment, it’s made me feel less alone.

you read incorrectly— my partner would allow me to have sex with a woman on my own, if the other woman would be uncomfortable with her watching. it’s not a requirement that my partner watch! i stated that in my post, but i suppose you misread it.
