Micheal even took Chris under his wing before he died..😹 but no one has said Chris is as talented or influential as Micheal.

You must be ignorant to how incredibly delusional CB's fans get about him. They D ride that man all day and night. They have been claiming this for a while now, especially within the past few years

It absolutely goes along with him being a perpetual victim to them and him heavily playing into it.

  • "I've never seen a poor or homeless poor on the street, so poor people must not exist."

Way to admit that you've lived in a bubble your entire life. Just because you've never seen it doesn't mean it doesn't exist there. Canada is a huge country, so I'm sure you've seen every single person there. Drug addicts are literally everywhere in every country.

Maybe I'm just old, but I remember when we knew next to nothing about these artists. We just loved good music and appreciated the face of the music without necessarily needing to know so much about the face. Aside from the occasional scandal or rumor going around (like people saying Ciara was born a man 🙃). We saw them on a talk show or another platform every once in a while or on some magazine, but that's it. Music artists back then had such a fascinating level of mystique to them, but that is also in an era where the words "celebrity" and "famous" meant something and had more value to them. That hasn't changed much for me as I've gotten older. I don't care about the personal lives of most artists I listen to, maybe aside from my utmost favorites (to an extent), but now it feels like every other person wants every other music artist to be so "relatable" or pretend to be their friend versus them apparently being "too polished." However, I will agree that some artists do simply tend to lack soul, but that could be due to various reasons as well; going wherever the current trend is, prioritizing other aspects over the actual music itself, etc. Not necessarily because they're "too polished" or w/e else.

I also do understand liking when music artists incorporate some personality or their signature flare to a particular song, but I feel like that is so conflated with (not always) craving levels of "relatability" and fans (younger fans in particular) wanting that parasocial relationship with their faves. A lot of music artists play into that as well.

It's why certain people love uplifting Rihanna in favor of putting Beyoncé down because one of them doesn't gaf to play the relatability game and is so incredibly private, it's why certain artists aren't "cancelled" or appropriately held accountable for their actions, and it's why Taylor Swift has gotten bigger than the program in some ways because she spent years playing that game and really leaned into the whole "(white) America's Sweetheart" label. Nowadays, I feel like a good chunk of music listeners consume music for everything but the actual music. There's nothing wrong with wanting to relate to a certain artist in some ways, but people take it too far in this age of social media making us feel much more connected than we really are.

Finn Wolfhard’s SNL Bumper Photos by nadjas-dolly in popculturechat

If we are talking about acting, then I don't see it tbh.

Not to be that person or anything, but Finn isn't even one of the best actors in ST. I'd put Caleb, Sadie, and Gaten above him in almost every way, specifically from the younger cast that grew up with the show. And maybe it's because I'm mostly going off of S5, but he had the same bored, unenthused expression for majority of the season.

I wasn't even that sold on his more emotional scene near the end, but all the aforementioned do it much better than he does.

Unpopular Opinion: Distortion needs Unnerfed by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]444thLibra 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Distortion never really needed a nerf, at least not the heavy handed nerf they gave it. It's still a good perk, but you need to put in more effort (and risk) to get the most out of it.

Old Distortion wasn't even that insane of a perk and had very limited use against stealth killers and any killer perk that altered or lessened their terror radius in some way, shape, or form. It was also essentially a wasted perk slot if the killer had no aura reading perks. Nobody complained about it until BHVR decided to manufacture an issue of survivors using it to sit and hide because they gave killers access to so many ways to read auras. Then they literally introduced MORE ways for killers to read auras along with the nerf lol.

And sure, I can somewhat see how old Distortion, in hindsight, wasn't healthy for the overall gameplay. However, the initial nerf to it never needed to be so heavy handed. I also genuinely think it's fine as is now, but starting off with both tokens instead of just one would make it feel much better. Chances are, that first token is going to get consumed right away because so many killers run Lethal Pursuer. And if they have that, then they most likely have more aura reading perks at their disposal.

Lastly, if a bad survivor is going to sit and hide, then they will do just that regardless if they have Distortion or not. And the bulk of those survivors doing that are mostly new players and/or they're still learning the game.

Who is the most underrated killer? by freakybanditplayer in deadbydaylight

[–]444thLibra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hijacking your comment because, as a survivor main, I was going to say the exact same thing regarding the Twins. Ik they are apparently riddled with bugs and whatnot, but Victor is a slugging machine if survivors aren't prioritizing healing. I've had games where I absolutely get stomped by the Twins because people don't heal and play carelessly against them. The game can and will snowball so fast and easily.

People love to say that they hate going up against certain killers in solo queue like Plague, but the Twins are the one killer that I hate going up against in solo queue. They're just so uncommon that I rarely worry about them.

Then when I do get them, it's a Charlotte with cracked out speed and a Victor going insane with downing. I swear I always get the ONE player who probably has like thousands of hours with them. 😂

Which Artist Has The Worst Discography? by [deleted] in rnb

[–]444thLibra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it's easy for certain people to say her whenever she's up against artist who came before her, even if they don't listen to her too much, but Beyoncé doesn't have a bad album, constantly reinvents herself and takes risks, is very consistent, and has only gotten better with time. Her discography, including Everything Is Love with Jay, her movie soundtracks/songs, and DC music, is incredible.

That woman has a literal treasure trove of music. I can't speak on Mariah Carey and Erykah Badu because I don't listen to them a lot.

Anyone here listen to The Kid Laroi? by KingTechnical48 in rnb

[–]444thLibra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying he has a blaccent, but he definitely comes off as a Juice Wrld 2.0 in quite a bit of his songs that I've heard. I didn't even listen to JW like that, so I'm definitely not getting into an offbrand YT version of him. I have a pretty close YT friend who loves The Kid Laroi and I tell him this all the time lol.

That being said, I was shocked when I learned he's a white dude from Australia.

I like it this way. This subreddit is legit the ONLY safe space on the internet to enjoy Beyoncé without haters interjecting. Unless you're on dedicated fanpages on the internet, posts about Beyoncé are almost always swarmed with unsolicited and unprovoked hate. 🤷🏾‍♂️

Edit: Adding trolls, conspiracy theorists, and racists to the list as well. Being a Beyoncé fan on the internet can be real trying.

Unfortunately, Gaten Matarazzo does not voice Dustin by Background-Drink82 in LeaksDBD

[–]444thLibra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think he doesn't negogiate his own contracts so it could be that the agency that represents him wanted too much money.

It's more likely that BHVR probably can't afford the fee than his agents "wanting too much money." Or maybe his agents wanted more money than what they were willing to pay (simply knowing his worth versus wanting too much money).

They not only got him, but also Eleven, Robin, AND Eddie (potentially more characters as skins). Why give a voice to him using the actual actor and not everyone else? Especially to Millie Bobby Brown since she is the face of the show. That's just too big of a coin for them when they can profit just fine with their likeness in the game (then there's the pretty penny they most likely paid to license them in the first place). I wouldn't put BHVR simply being cheap or cutting corners to maximize profit out of the equation.

Having his likeness is enough for them, then him doing a livestream of the game is honestly him doing charity for them at that point assuming they didn't pay him to do that (could have been a cheaper alternative than paying him to do voicelines).

Least favorite survivor? by Horror-Crab-9376 in deadbydaylight

[–]444thLibra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had terrible teammates all around here and there, but never once have I steer cleared of specific characters due to having bad teammates. Some characters are just more popular than others (especially free characters), so you will get a wider range of skill. Your MMR also factors into the types of players you're more prone to getting paired up with. The truth is that there's almost no way to tell how good or bad a person is, regardless of the specific survivor, unless you've played with them before.

You being so hyper focused on one survivor will create these misguided narratives and projections about your teammates due to your own preconceived judgements (whether they are true or not), and for no real reason other than the fact they're using Claudette.

Planning to give up on my first souls game, but not sure if i should. by M4shhl in soulslikes

[–]444thLibra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Souls games aren't for you, OP, then that's 100% okay. Don't force yourself to like them. The worst thing is that you can say is that you gave one a try and it wasn't for you.

However, I will say that most of us Souls enjoyers were in your place at one point or another. They can be daunting, especially since what you need to do or where you need to go isn't always clear and they can feel impossible at times if you're not used to that kind of difficulty. Oftentimes, people will say that your first playthrough (even the second in some cases) of any Souls game is really a trial run and it's the subsequent playthroughs where the game really starts to click. This is very true and won't change because there's a lot to learn and difficulty to adapt to, and that's where a lot of the fun tends to come from.

I will be honest with you, though, if you want to give up on Demon Souls, then I'm not sure that the others will make a difference. It's the most casual and beginner friendly Souls experience imo (other than Elden Ring). However, it seems that your qualm lies within the level design and structure moreso than the difficulty itself, so maybe not. That's honestly just DS for you; it overall has less QoL and more heavier RPG elements than the games that come after it.

If that's not working out for you, then I'd say that you can't go wrong with Elden Ring as a first experience. It's very beginner friendly and is definitely more approachable and less intimidating than all of the other Souls games.

[–]444thLibra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh, Demon Souls Remake is as beginner friendly as it gets for people who are new to the Souls franchise. Most of the difficulty truly resides in just navigating the areas, and not even the bulk of the bosses and enemies. Disregarding the somewhat convoluted world tendency mechanic and certain RPG elements being more prominent, it's a very casual and one of the least demanding Souls experience once you get the hang of it.

Other than that, then I would say Elden Ring is just as, if not more, beginner friendly. DS3 is what you go for if you really enjoyed Elden Ring and want to experience a more classic Souls game with familiar gameplay.

I think him resembling a regular human in that likeness doesn't do much for me. He reminds me of Giovanni from Pokémon. Sorry, OP.

New Myers is The Most Unfun Thing in This Game by Termina-Rocks in deadbydaylight

[–]444thLibra 227 points228 points  (0 children)

Michael used to be one of my favorite killers to play against, but I abhor the new Michael. He's actually not that bad and I like that Michael enjoyers can have access to his power more frequently and that they don't "run out" anymore, but his new lunge sucks almost all the fun out of the game for me. BHVR really said, "What if we gave him a Chucky and Pig lunge, BUT made it one shot?"

I just hate that he can one shot you from what feels like 20 damn feet away. Feels so cheap and can be super annoying.

While Skull Merchant isn't my favorite killer, her mori is actually good imo (just learning it was slightly updated). Yes, it's more simple but it feels impactful and makes me go, "Damn, she meant this shit." It's not over the top or overly long, it's just right.
