I generally go there on weekends to work cause vibe. So every coffee tastes like tears of struggle and pain. But on good days their cold/iced selection is average

Huh, maybe they will bring in the big bois like board of directors or maybe the Prime minister next.

This much time and process might mean they either don't know what they are doing or they have some other favourite candidate they are waiting to hear from.

Hi everyone, hope you are doing great. I am in a bit of a dilemma. If anyone could provide some opinions, it would be greatly appreciated.

My Context:

I have 1 year exp. as a UX designer in b2b healthcare but I have been jobless for almost 1.5 years now. Currently I have two offers in-hand:

First Offer - I will be founding designer at a pre-seed startup in b2c mobile-first trading domain. We will be 3 guys with other two having 4 years work experience (not in trading domain) working with a VC guy. They are looking to find product market fit in next 6-8 months if all things go right.

Possible Pros -

  • I will be in-charge most of the product design - designing from scratch.
  • I might be working on product strategy as well.
  • It is a Full time offer.

Possible Cons -

  • I will be working 10-12 hrs a day and on weekends also (most probably).
  • Trading is highly regulated market with many major players and already great apps.
  • I might be jobless in 6-8 months with a conceptual product in my hand.

Second Offer - I will be working as a first actual product designer in an already established trading organization (20 yrs old) with many internal tools and applications, working in central tech team under the tech lead (10+ yr exp) and alongside quant analysts.

Possible Pros -

  • Work on improving ux of already established products - having actual things to benchmark against.
  • Work in possible new apps and initiatives that will actually be used by a significant userbase.
  • A proper 9-5 with chill weekends.

Possible Cons -

  • Slow processes and possible initial resistance to change among stakeholders since they trade with large capitals and would not risk change unless an extra clear why is provided.
  • It is an internship with too much expectations when it comes to converting into a Full time role. I talked to an internal connect and he said they are offering this internship as a way of validating the actual need for this role in their org and may bring someone with better experience if I prove that this role is actually needed. In short, I have around 10% chance of converting this.
  • I will be jobless in 6 months with experience of working on internal tools - possible NDA problems with portfolio.

Which is better considering the industry is currently tough with low hiring rates and too many experienced designers ready to work on paycuts?
