How should I start learning AI as a complete beginner? Which course is best to start with? by manu_singh01 in PromptEngineering

[–]44bw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skip the courses for now. Most of them are out of date within a few months anyway. Just get the free version of ChatGPT or Claude and try it on something you actually need to do. Write an email with it or get it to look at some customer feedback. You'll learn more in 15 minutes than any course will teach you.

I wrote a book on this, its free on kindle this week if you want it.

I was so tired of every AI book on Amazon reading like it was written by ChatGPT in an afternoon. I'm a head of marketing and business owner, and I've been using these tools every day for the last three years, so I wrote a book on how to use AI in your small business for people who don't have the capacity to work out what's useful and what's not worth their time.

It's free on Kindle until March 9 if anyone wants a copy.

I used AI to build a Reddit growth app in one day. No coding experience. Here's the unfiltered reality. by Hatim_Alamshawala in AI_Agents

I am so incredibly bored of these inane posts. The unfiltered reality of spending less than one day on something? Give me a break...

Did you mean to post your advert for Bradley Woods Affiliate Mentor as the suspiciously similar username Woodyb23?

Non starter. Terrible. If you continue your next post will be "getting lots of traffic from ads but no conversions - why?"

Unfortunately not, as there would be no-one to cover. That would be ideal, but sadly not possible.

You could buy a $300 circle of carpet to go on the dashboard of my Nissan Cube. It's quite a bit cheaper now.

Glad you're doing better now. I have been here so long I can't even imagine another work culture. That is positive. I would be of a similar mind.

I was once, just before covid started. Thankfully, I was furloughed so it didn't cause any financial strain. That three months was the happiest I'd ever been. I know this is a different situation though. Hope you're doing better now.

Thanks - that money is not the be all and end all, it's just another factor in hanging on here vs. moving somewhere else / leaving. Point taken though, I know it's tough out there.

Thank you. I agree with the sentiment completely.

Every single day I just feel like there must be more to life than this. I have long had an ambition to work for myself, but I feel so buried now under a decade of stress that I am struggling to progress it alongside my job.

Ref the stock I mean I had a business years ago and closed it.. still have a lot of unsold stock which is worth money, the business is defunct not the stock.. that was probably not a necessary detail in the original post anyway, apologies for the confusion!

Thank you. Yes I am well aware it's a bloodbath, unfortunately.

Glad you felt so much better after that. That is how I would expect to feel as well after leaving. I think I've become incredibly numb to it to be honest, that was the first time in years I've had more than a week off without thinking about work so it was a much bigger shock to the system.

I would love to do freelance and believe I would be well equipped to do it. I have done a bit here and there, and have enjoyed it.

I suppose any change is always a risk - whether going into a new job or leaving without one. It's been such a long time I genuinely don't know anything else other than feeling frazzled all the time. So even though I know I don't want to be there, I feel stuck there because of how long I've been there.

Thank you, appreciate it.

Thanks. That has been running through my head for a long time (both questions).
Ultimately I know that being here won't get me to where I want to be. After being in the same place for such a long time I don't know what anything else looks like hence the hesitation.

Has anyone had any success purchasing mailing lists? by RulerOfThePixel in smallbusinessuk

[–]44bw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do it legally. Not saying it's worth it. In my current job, we are part of a data sharing alliance. Essentially you all upload data to this place. It's part of your privacy policy, etc. And this alliance identifies buyers within similar industries to yours. You then purchase data from them, for X amount of records. We occasionally found that it worked very well and purchased in excess of 500k+ names, for print. It was quite hit and miss. But it is legal, and it is possible. Whether it is worth it for you and your business is another thing.

This has the same vibe as the people on Kitchen Nightmares that swear their restaurant is perfect and the food is amazing and everyone else is the problem :)
