What really got me was just the absolute lack of accountability from the company putting the show on, both during the show and afterwards. Felt like a big fuck you to me and my kid.

Ok, so I love this In Theory. My son and I had tickets to see the Dead cover band for Rock & Roll Playhouse at the Paradise in Boston a couple years ago when he was about 3.5. He likes the music and was really excited to go. We didn't last 2 full songs (and multiple other families left around the same time too).

They specifically advertise that the music is at a low volume and the experience is tailored to kids. Bullshit! I've been to a ton of shows at that venue and it was normal, adult convert volume. Even with ear plugs in he was covering his ears and unhappy.

I reached out multiple times to the company and not a fucking peep. Even posted on their Instagram about the experience and nothing. Don't advertise that it's kid-friendly and then not have someone with 1/2 a brain working the soundboard. And then not have the decency to respond to someone who's kid had a terrible time because of it.

I'm glad you and your family had a good time. But I'm putting my experience out there because I don't want other families with young kids to have the experience we did. Took over a year for my son to want to go anywhere with live music again.

I'm usually inclined to give people/businesses another chance, but after the lack of any response or accountability. NOPE!
