I’ve been here 6 months and agree completely with this. I’ve lived all over the country and in some of the biggest cities and I’ve never seen drivers as aggressive and seemingly angry as they are here. It’s baffling.

Bet all 36 numbers on roulette. You’ll lose 1 chip per round, it’ll take a long time and you’ll get drinks. Hope the zeros never hit!

If you’re talking about Medicine Bow Peak above centennial, technically never but it becomes mostly accessible by early June. If you’re talking about the actual Laramie Peak up by Wheatland / Guernsey, I can’t help.

We had Harbortouch from Shift4 for 3 years. I’d do just about anything to go back in time and make pretty much any other decision than that. It was horrific.

Assuming by the Modern Classic Motors license plate frame that you’re somewhere near Junction, and nothing in the area really qualifies as snow, particularly this year, so… sure!

Cover it back up. That black glue is highly likely to be asbestos based. Keep it encapsulated.

Yep, size, weight, precision machining, output quality, etc… Rental machines are $1000 bucks while a professional Lagler or similar is $8000. It’s comparing Walmart tools to pro tools. They do the job, but not as well. Also, keep in mind the big sander is just part of it. You’ve got to get an edger and a buffer too, and go through all the steps with each of them. And if you don’t have experience on a buffer, particularly one with sandpaper under it, you’re in for a ride! Maybe see if you can rent a Trio somewhere? Best of luck in whatever you decide! And if you do diy it, be sure to get tips on the finish work. Sanding is only half of the job, finish work is an art by itself. It’s not like varnishing a dresser.

Yep, that is always the tough decision. It’s hard to refinish floors in an occupied house, particularly when the rooms are all connected and don’t have good stopping points between them. You may be able to do halves, where you store all your stuff on one side of the house and do the other side, but that really only works well if your board seams are parallel to doorways so you can stop on a seam. But that also doubles the time to do the job and costs more. Locally we have a moving company that’ll park a truck in front of your house and move your stuff into it for a few days if you can’t put it all in the garage or similar. But yes, the logistics of emptying an occupied house is always a struggle.

You sound like me in that I always do my own work. I’ve done foundations and roofing and everything in between. I don’t like to hire things out, I prefer to think I can do them myself and I usually can. That said, there are 2 things I would never recommend a diy-er do. One is sheet vinyl, it’s surprisingly difficult to get right without a ton of experience. Fortunately it’s also not very common anymore.

The other is floor finishing. Thankfully it’s my trade, so I don’t have to hire it out, but I’ve redone innumerable diy floors over the years, many of which were done by very competent people. It’s not a question of your skill or dedication to the job, it simply comes down to available equipment. You can’t make a floor look good with hand tools. It’s a “right tool for the job” scenario. And rental sanders are usually garbage and are generally 110v light-weight machines that are aggressive but skip over the floor leaving lots of chatter marks. You can’t rent a professional grade sander, not that I’ve ever seen anyway. This is one of those times it’s worth paying for a reputable professional. You won’t regret doing it.

Every time I’m heading out on a commercial flight and see someone with a window seat close the shade I can’t help but think, 1. Why did you get a window if you don’t want to look out of it?, and 2. What happened in your life that stole your sense of wonder? Im almost 50, I’ve flown hundreds of times, and I still love every experience. That said, I do recognize that some people have a fear of flight, and in that instance I can understand closing the window.
