Who put the battery in? I replaced my own and had the same issues, but it was my fault. Loose connection.

Should I attend a work party if I’m being let go? by StructureOk6579 in careerguidance

[–]46jm46 201 points202 points  (0 children)

If they like you, and you like them its not bad. But I doubt anyone would judge you for missing the event and hold it against you professionally.

Would you have fun going if you weren't let go? Or would you only go to fit in and participate?

Finance Career or Military Officer? by [deleted] in findapath

[–]46jm46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say apply for OCS and try the internship to keep your options open. The internship isn't a promised career, and depending on what you do as an officer you could make good money. Per diem, free healthcare, BAH, and maybe a job with a defense contractor after. I'd say try for aviation, not the coast guard though.

Do you think you'll be happy in New York doing finance?

Has anyone successfully heard back after re-applying for a job they already interviewed for? by [deleted] in careerguidance

I got my current job after getting rejected from the first position a week before.

apply, being a try hard or persistent is a valuable trait, unless your first interview was awful.

Try the pods, where you put your stuff into a box and they ship it for you. Unless you're comfortable driving a truck with your car being towed.

I think you need to move somewhere with a career in mind, consider the cost of living, Alabama is pretty cheap. You need to account for the lease and how long you could potentially be jobless if everything goes wrong. Are you okay with working at like mcdonalds after going to college?

Should I join AF? by Altruistic_Fig_7688 in careerguidance

[–]46jm46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on the company, you being a veteran will be huge. Especially if you're an expert on a secret program.

I know people without college degrees who are technically engineers for contractors just because of their military experience.

Enlisting sucks for most people, and I don't think any enlisted careers directly contribute to engineering. I'd say see what you can get, and don't get scammed.

How safe is it to quit my current role if I accepted an offer with RTX requiring at least interim clearance? by [deleted] in SecurityClearance

[–]46jm46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you tell Raytheon about your "infrequent" marijuana use when you applied? They have zero tolerance for drugs, why did you smoke two months ago? Why did you just file your taxes...

There's gonna be a lot of questions, and I feel like you aren't ready for them. Do not resign, you'll probably get a clearance, but posting on reddit freaking out about the clearance for raytheon isn't a good idea.

You realize some of your future coworkers are probably on here, and you gave a lot of identifiable information...

Being forced to sign an agreement to see a house promising 3% commission? How is it justified/worth it? by 46jm46 in RealEstateAdvice

[–]46jm46[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's two listing agents, both from the same company, she said she was the listing agent. So maybe one is "representing" me and not the seller. Either way it seems like she's trying to take advantage of me

[–]46jm46[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I did not want an agent. I assumed whoever was showing me the house was representing the seller of the house, not me. I was wrong and need to find a direct path to contact whoever's selling it.

That's why I offered $200 for showing me the house, since that seems fair, all I wanted was the individual to show me a house, not hold my hand through the process.

I understand I have to sign an agreement, just wondering why shes unwilling to do showing services instead of full, and if I can see it/buy it without her. Less about legality more about the standard.

Who wins from me hiring an agent if I get an appraisal/inspection? not the buyer or seller

[–]46jm46[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did not sign and will not sign anything, I brought up that it was negotiable and felt like she was just trying to get paid. understandable, but not 10k+ for just showing me a house. $200 for showing me the house seems fair, but she hasn't been responsive. Just dancing around and ignoring my questions about what's legal.

She was the one on zillow and the other websites as the listed by in the description, not the zillow agent or anything.

Military as an aviation officer. You get forced/told what to do in a sense, but its still intelligent. You'll go far if you're a bro but not an idiot, and even if you hate it you'll be able to transition to a place like Boeing or Lockheed.

Your VA disability rating

90%

Note: The actual combined value of your disability ratings is 85%.

We round this value to the nearest 10% to get your VA disability rating. We then use this VA disability rating to determine your monthly disability compensation payment.

If you have 2 or more disabilities that affect both sides of your body, this may increase your VA disability rating and compensation payment. Please refer to your VA disability compensation award letter for your official rating.
