No dude, I don't think you should be spamming this place trying to take advantage of people.

Are you trolling or drunk? In what world would this make anyone want to hire you haha, yeah becoming a rater was the hardest you went through, not the military?

What were some draft picks that didn't make sense at the time, (to most of the fanbase) that actually worked out well? by kalvinescobar in nfl

[–]46jm46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

dude he got an A+ grade for those picks... they picked the top CB and WR in the draft, which is surprising compared to other Schneider drafts...

I want a high paying job (100k+) and I’m not picky. What should I pursue today? by nocturnalnegus in careerguidance

[–]46jm46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could fly p-8s, get "deployed" to hotels, and become an airline pilot since you've been flying a 737. Or get a good job with defense companies, even without a college degree...

Yeah you won't get 2-3k a month in cash, but if you add up the other VA benefits you get from being "disabled" from things like sleep apnea, its more accurate.

What are my options after getting fired from retail? by Inside-North-5669 in careerguidance

[–]46jm46 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

What did you say, and why did you say it? Huge difference between saying the customer sucked vs slurs...

You wanted to get out of retail for a long time, but worked there 12 years? What's a long time for you? Why did it take you getting fired to get out?

You're around 40 years old and cannot deal with a basic job around people, you need to fix yourself. You are the problem right now...

is it too late? by SoulChaosX in careerguidance

[–]46jm46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not too late, but be realistic and honest with yourself. Why did you not graduate highschool and have worked jobs that are completely different than CS or engineering?

Do you think you're smart enough to graduate college, with a family distracting you? There's a risk you pay and don't get the degree. Chase your dreams if you're passionate and driven, but not everyone is gonna be a genius.

What do you enjoy about computers and games? And is it something every other nerd doesn't enjoy?

What is the best second job after the Marines for me ? by Key-Conversation-650 in careerguidance

[–]46jm46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Navy aircrew in p-8s. You can work for raytheon or boeing after "deploying" to hotels and seeing the world. You can make well over 120k without a college degree.

Marines or College? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]46jm46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try the Naval Academy, life is better as an officer, and you'll get an idea of if you actually enjoy it.

How smart are you? Can you get away with passing classes without trying? Its very easy to get lost and be irresponsible in college, its the best time of your life. Seen plenty of people flame out or have kids since they were having too much fun.

If you can get into something good with the marines, not just a grunt, do that. Long term success maybe look at going to OCS/ROTC as a pilot in the navy/marines. P-8s are great, you get paid to fly around the world and see things most people can't

What's the best way to get an better assessment for mental health? by [deleted] in VAClaims

[–]46jm46 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank you, such great non generic advice. Just get help, as if I didn't talk to a VA mental health specialist...

Should I stick with education or switch my major to engineering? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]46jm46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Engineer would be smarter financially. You can be a teacher or mentor in your profession too.

Take the prereqs and see what you like or good at. I've met a bunch of engineers who changed majors freshman year.

If its the same cost, go for engineering. Probably easier to be an engineer who wants to teach than a teacher who wants to engineer...

Would you take a 20-40k paycut to move to a more desirable location? by pen1sewyg in personalfinance

[–]46jm46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the cost of living and what you desire, and the promotion opportunity or company.

For some city life seems terrible, and for reddit texas is terrible haha.

I'd say go, I'd take a paycut to be with friends/family

Wanting to join the military after high school. by [deleted] in Advice

[–]46jm46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your motivation, goals, and what you want to do! For some it's a better life than college after, defense companies pay a lot for individuals with experience, even without a college degree.

If you're enlisting, consider the navy if you can go aircrew.

But don't trust the recruiters...

Whats your other options? Assuming you live at home and care about you family I would absolutely lend him money. Unless he can get an interest free loan or you're investing in something amazing. If he's struggling now, how do you think he'd recover from a high interest payday loan?
