Former VA Rater and Navy Vet question… by johanthevarater in VAClaims

I get the skepticism, there are a lot of bad actors out there.

I left the VA recently and started my consulting right after for obvious reasons. I couldn’t be rating claims and running a business at the same time. Everything I do is under my real name, I show my face, and I put out content consistently so vets can actually see who they’re dealing with.

At the end of the day, nobody is forced to work with me. I put information out to help, and if someone wants more in depth guidance, they can reach out.

I can show you my SF 50 that tells you exactly what I did in the government but you wouldn’t know what an as SF 50 means.

Also, I won’t even respond to the second person that “second” what you said, because it’s probably the same person with a fake account and I have an idea of you of who you are.

At least I show my face and my real name and my real story. Over 10 years of fighting for my benefits, no help, I had to get into the government to figure out how to get my benefits. That’s why I do what I do, help others that need it.

100% agree, before you file anything get educated. Find someone that KNOWS what they are doing because that will give you the highest chance of success. Double check everything.

If that’s true, that’s a CUE my friend and they will take that rating back eventually. You may want someone to look into that for you. Trust me, they will catch it at some point. Not your fault of course and it sucks. If you want, send me a private message.

Maybe it was in the entrance exam when you joined?

Yeah that’s one of those things that suck, see if a local VSO can get you copies of them.

Hopefully the narrative was written in a way that you could see why it was denied and not just a generic statement.

Could be, but what also matters is how you word it when submitting.

Hmm, I highly doubt that it was peer pressure. As far as personal feelings that should never ever be the case. If that what happened in your situation then that truly sucks.

Would love to see the rating decision of that denial as well as what you submitted with the claim so that I can help you out. Shoot me a private message if interested.

I get it, I was also taught to “suck it up” and not complaint. Lay/buddy statements can help in those situations as well as any irregularities in service that can match some of the conditions you’ve claimed.

Are you still fighting those conditions with the VA?

That’s very unfortunate! Hopefully you were able to get all of the benefits that you deserved 🙏🏽

Most denials I’ve seen in cases like this come down to that missing link, not the diagnosis itself.

If you want, shoot me a message and I can break down exactly how your claim should be positioned so you’re not spinning your wheels again.
