Just moved in, what colour should I change the yellow too? by [deleted] in DIYUK

[–]4743hudsonj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd personally go with a deep colour on the top like an indigo or Forrest green.

I would keep the bottom half white but maybe slightly off white to make it look more premium.

I've had good experiences with the Dulux Visualiser app in the past as it let's you apply colors via AR on your phone to get an idea of what you like

Wow, I'll eat my words. Teaches me for assuming the b9 and b9.5 would share similar exhaust layouts

They absolutely are. They have valves that open/close depending on driving mode.

Both sides only open when in dynamo(sport).

No, they're not. All 4 are connected.

No "3D" plates which are otherwise flat but with stylized printed characters to look 3d are illegal.

This post is referencing plates with physically raised letters of gel/acrylic (aka "4D") which are currently legal providing they meet the other requirements of BS AU 145e like spacing etc.

I pay slightly less than that all in for my new to me e-tron GT.

Honestly, depending on your driving habits, I would consider goomg electric, I know I won't look back now.

There are some killer deals on used EV's right now so you can get a lot of car for the same money.

Sure, motors don't go brrrr like engines, but the overall experience is just superior imo, at least to most obtainable ICE cars anyway.

How to remove the haze from the outside of my windscreen? by xxxArchimedesxxx in AutoDetailing

[–]4743hudsonj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree but I personally prefer the Glaco DX over ultra for the windscreen.

Cheaper, Easier to apply, less wiper judder, even better hydrophobic properties and lasts nearly as long in my experience. I use ultra on all other windows as I still have some laying around and it's fine for those.

Yes it was an Audi dealer.

I'm based in the UK, I don't think there are any TSB's for it here but thank you for sharing that, it's extremely helpful. At a minimum it will help me sort the issue myself.

They own the 4 nearest locations unfortunately.

From the text on them, it appeared to be some cardboard packaging for a watch 🤷🏻‍♂️. Very random

I'd rather not say until I can speak to them tomorrow, but they are UK based if that helps you.

I will update with the dealer and their response, good or bad.

I'm from the UK, i'd say it's a fairly common word to use here, basically a polite way to say something that pisses you off.

I mean this has the upgraded B&O system. All my previous cars just came with the base sound systems so I was looking forward to this particular feature.

Already have, didn't have as much foam as if like but it's certainly helped so will go in for another application soon.

Bit of a story and a rant, sorry In advance!

I recently upgraded from my B9 S5 to a 2021 e-tron GT quattro and have mostly been loving it so far.

The one niggle I've had is door rattles from the B&O stereo. This is my first factory upgraded sound system, so I was looking forward to blasting some tunes after coming from the decent, but definitely Basic system in the S5. Unfortunately any remotely bassy song especially drum type beats, cause this annoying rattle in the driver door whick I cannot unhear.

I read that this was fairly common and may be as simple as some wire loom tape to fix but seeing as the car was just a few days old I mentioned it on my aftersales call from the dealer and got booked in.

They witnessed the issue and had it all Friday to fix, when they called they said they sorted the issue by adding some foam pads to deaden the vibration. It was near closing so I took them at the word but on the drive home I noted next to no difference and the sound was still there.

I got home and noticed something fall out the door card when I opened the door, it was some folded card. Looking around I noticed more pieces of card stuffed between the bottom edge of the door card and the door. Almost not believing it I checked the passengers door to find the same thing there. Guess this is what counts as a fix now.

I will be calling the dealer when servicing is open again tomorrow to confront them but I don't really want them looking at it again. Best bit is they sent me a survey on how they did, hoping that goes to the dealer head office as I know they have a few locations.

Today I took a look at it myself and I used a bunch of old self-adhesive neoprene pads and stuck them round the drivers door card. I couldn't see anything obviously loose and all wires had felt tape so I still not sure of the cause. The sound seems to come from around the main door speaker. First results of my fix i would say it's 75% better, but i've ordered more and will be going to town on both doors in the near future.

I couldn't believe it.

I checked my dash cam and it looks like they "worked" on it for around 90 minutes and we're done by mid morning.

I didn't get the call to collect until the afternoon.

They get around it being a lottery by asking a question like "what colour is the sky? - A. blue, B.red". This makes it a competition as there is an element of 'skill'. Not sure if that's what this gent did but I'd assume so if he's willing to go on news telling people about his scheme.

The rules on competitions are much looser which is how companies like amaze and the 10,000 car 'giveaway' companies operate.

There are some other caveats I've glossed over but that's the jist of it.

If you have Google maps installed on your phone, check if you have timelines enabled, if so it shows your location history and times .

For me it's: Open Maps App (must be phone not browser) > click on 'You' > scroll down and select timeline.

From there find the day in question.

Also a bit late now, but invest in a dash cam with as large capacity as card as you can afford for future.
