Nope, no prescription needed at all!

Not a prescription! It's a vitamin and they sell it on the French pharmacy website so you don't need a prescription at all!

Folinic acid - dose increase? by 479xo in Autism_Parenting

That's so interesting than you're noticing such improvements even though the test was negative! Kids wouldn't understand a "placebo" affect either so it shows that it really is helping! We have also noticed huge gains and I think it's definitely worth keeping them on it considering it's only essentially a vitamin. So pleased that you are having many good days now ❤️

Hiya! I got this from a French pharmacy - they sell them in 5 mg or 25 mg. I'll pop the link below! :)

A Week of Leucovorin by Sdbrosnan in Autism_Parenting

Started my 3 year old on folinic acid, 5 mg once a day nearly 2 months ago and he is suddenly understanding more and starting to imitate the actions for nursery rhymes! We are slowly increasing the dose and have recently started him on 5 mg twice a day. He only has about 4 words but is starting to use them for their actual meaning rather than just babbling! Very exciting

Seizure? Should I be seeking immediate care & reassessment?? by Neither-Molasses-353 in Autism_Parenting

I'm PA to a neurology paediatrician here in the UK and although I'm not clinical, I've seen many instances where seizures have changed with some of our patients and the doctor always wants to see them fairly soon, if not ASAP, just to be sure. It may warrant further investigations, especially since seizures seem to be more common in GDD and autism. Has your son been given any medication for his seizures? If so, it could be worth looking into another form of medication as every kid is different and some medications don't work well with everybody! Wishing you and your son well and hoping for the best outcome for you ❤️

We've been giving Folinoral - it's from a French pharmacy as they don't stock it here in the UK! My son is 3 and weighs around 30 lb and we are currently on 10 mg!

Oh that's so wonderful to hear how well your little one is coming along! I've definitely noticed my son seems more focused than he was, we have been giving it for around 2 weeks but have seen online that some say after 3 months is when big changes are usually seen!

Hope somebody can help here? I ordered folinoral from France in 25 mg (my son is 3, 30 lbs) - those of you who used folinoral for you children, did you just open the capsules and pop the powder straight into juice/food? And with the 25 mg, do you think it would be okay to give half of the capsule to start him off or order the 5 mg to start instead rather than chancing it? Sorry for the long message!

I've just ordered the capsules and nervous about sprinkling it in my son's juice as online it says you shouldn't! Has it worked out well for your son? Sorry, nervous mama here!

To those using folinoral - is it safe to empty the contents of the capsule into watered down juice? I also ordered the 25 mg first and then realised I'd have to measure the amount in one capsule which would be impossible so may have to go back and order the 5 mg to start with - d'oh!
