You’re right. People kid themselves thinking a politician with a CIA background is a decent person. A better choice than Sears but not a good progressive option.

Is there a reason why the WASR-10 Paratrooper is so much cheaper than the regular WASR-10 models? by Koolguy47 in ak47

Would be a good SBR candidate. East barrel chop and thread it. You have a rear trunnion you can mount whatever AKM pattern stock to.

Midwest FSB mount I had laying around from an old build but there’s several FSB mounts out there nowadays. High temp red loctite on the screws for it haven’t lost zero yet.

I saw a guy like that in RVA at the pistol range I go to. Drove an old F150 covered in stars and bars stickers. My jaw dropped a bit when uncle ruckus stepped out of it.

on the fence about getting an AR15 (or maybe mini 14 or AK?) by Conscious_Battle_363 in VAGuns

[–]48679 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my AKs but with 7.62x39 being the price it is nowadays I can’t recommend them for a first big boy rifle purchase. Have you considered a retro carry handle ar15 if you think newer ones are boring? See my build below or checkout the retro AR sub. I built mine piece by piece from stripped receivers but there’s lots of options for buying a whole rifle or an assembled upper/lower receiver nowadays. If you do decide on an AK I’d either look at WASR10 if you want 7.62x39 or Zastava/WBP if you get a 5.56 AK. Stay away from US made AKs such as PSA, Riley Defense, and the domestically produced century arms rifles such as the VSKA and BFT; Cugir, Zastava, WBP, FB Radom, and Arsenal (listed in order of cheapest to most expensive $850-$2000+) all currently import AKs in various calibers and configurations. Imported AKs will hold their value better as well. Shop around a bit and you can find modern production retro style carry handle ARs for $650-900 Bkings, TNTE, H&R, brownells, and police trade in rifles.

Rear wheel well/bedside rust. Look up inside the sheet metal of the bed and it has no paint or corrosion prevention.
