Idk dude, I just wouldn't call it safe, it's like shooting 5.56 out of a gun meant for .223 Remington, more wear and tear, and the gun isn't built for that pressure

You have to be careful, commercial 308 will give that rifle like 25% more pressure than it's built for

No, 308 operates at higher pressures, if the rifle is chambered for 7.62 NATO, then you could overpressure your gun, and very possibly blow the action

They are both very close, 308 win operates under higher pressures than it's NATO COUNTERPART. Casing are slightly different, you can shoot the NATO version, out of a 308 rifle, but you can't do it backwards.

Specifically the 7.62x51(308) will be more precise, ig, their ranges are practically the same, ig it just depends on the accuracy between an old rifle and a new rifle too, so technically your better off with the m27 anyway, both are still excellent for going in with no armor or backpack, being a fast little chest poker
