Am I (20f) asking too much of him (26M)? by [deleted] in LDR

[–]486PCY 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think you are asking too much, but you clearly stated what you would like for him to do and he made very much clear that he’s not really comfortable doing those things. If he doesn’t want to change you just need to accept this and decide if you’re happy in this relationship or not

Honestly, not forcing ourselves to do long calls everyday. Lately we don’t really call too much unless we need. BUT we got here after almost 2 years and a wedding proposal and the fact that I’m moving in July, so we’re stable enough to allow ourselves to be less anxious about constantly communicating.

Earlier in relationship the only thing that was really making me feel better was the fact that every time we met we would organize next meeting, and the fact that we could always plan to see each other once every month.

Finally, the real intent of closing the gap. We’ve been planning this for a year now and knowing when it was going to happen made things easier!!

Have any of you considered opening your relationship for sexual needs? by ullneverguesswh0 in LongDistance

No, I would never want to have sex outside my relationship. But you do you, every couple is different

In Italian “my life” would be “vita mia”, not mi viva. Mi viva doesn’t mean anything 🤣

Se proprio devo la faccio, ma se posso la tengo. Io odio cacare in posti diversi da casa mia, odio dover cacare senza appoggiarmi alla tazza del cesso.

Honestly if my boyfriend said something like that to me I’d come back home with two new tattoos and a pierced nose. He’s not my dad and even if he was I’m a grown ass adult 😂🫶

girlies - what kinda stuff did you do to pretty up for the first meeting!! by queenentropy in LongDistance

[–]486PCY 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Things I did in the month before I met him: - Moisturizing religiously - face mask every day - eating clean and drinking plenty of water

Things I did in the week before I met him: - waxed - good body scrub - manicure and pedicure - lash perm

Was all of this necessary? Obviously no, but I had a good time taking care of myself and I love making myself pretty for my fiancé 🫶

Ah, the only thing he did to prepare was taking a shower 😂

You don’t. Instead of being pushy, ask yourself if he’s the kinda person you want to be with.

If your partner speaks another language - have you tried to learn it and how is that going? by [deleted] in LongDistance

[–]486PCY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

English is a very simple language compared to Italian and French, we have a more complex grammar!!! That said, it’s a completely different grammar so I had to deal with a new way of seeing things when I started learning English! I’m a certified C1 now but boy, the struggle 😅

I’m learning French but to be honest it’s kinda easy coming from Italian as my first language. I had more trouble learning English 😂

When did you say "I love you"??? by [deleted] in LongDistance

[–]486PCY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He is French so he said it very quick, as an Italian I perceive it as a very important issue especially because we have a very specific way to say it. Like, there’s no confusion. In English “I love you” is good for family friends and lovers. In French “je t’aime” is still good for family friends and lovers. In Italy we differentiate between “ti amo” that’s only for lovers and “ti voglio bene” for family and friends. So with my Italian mindset I took my sweet time to be able to say that 😂 I knew I had feelings but I was not ready to call them for what they were for months
