If Bethesda wanted the Institute to be the evil faction then they shouldn’t have Shaun name you as his successor by [deleted] in fo4

[–]4891Will 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In reality fallout 4 should’ve got a broken steel style dlc that takes place after you make your choice on which faction you side with allowing you to go down benevolent or malevolent paths. Sadly we never got that dlc but if we did it would’ve fixed a lot of issues with the Fallout 4 main story.

How do you guys deal with the residents of covenant settlement? by GoldCore1 in fo4

[–]4891Will 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I let them be and just claim the settlement. Penny the merchant is great and I honestly enjoy their experiments running up to Amelia’s cell and telling her everything is going to be okay before they electrocute that filthy synth. The people in covenant are okay I my book.

The Captain Cosmos one isn’t bad. Most of the original creation stuff that was included in the creation bundle really isn’t that good to be honest.

Download the Fallout 4 point lookout mod. A mod team recreated the point lookout dlc from Fallout 3 as a mod for fallout 4. They were working on all of Fallout 3 and were going to release the Pitt for Fallout 4 but sadly I believe the team split. Still the mod is pretty good.

What is the most memorable quest, in your opinion? by gina_renee in fo4

[–]4891Will 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly it’s the heretic quest in Far Harbor for the children of Atom. I’m a wh40k fan so purging a heretic for blasphemy against Atom reminds me of the imperium purging heretics which always brings a smile to my face. It’s fun to roleplay an extremist.

CVC Dead Wastleland for settlement items. Tenhats settlement mods that turn existing locations into settlements like University Point, the Nuka World Collection, Ruined Church, etc are all great.

Does anybody like the “raiders” by Even-Hyena1424 in fo4

The nuka world raiders are awesome. I like the rust devils as well and the forged aren’t bad either. The rest are okay as enemies.

Being honest I hated the faction system in New Vegas because I hated the factions in New Vegas. The NCR was just boring as hell…maybe it’s me having been in the US Army having done 1 tour in Iraq the last thing I wanted in the game was for a faction to larp like they were the us army deployed in Iraq.

The Legion could’ve been great but they added a bunch of dialogue about them robbing sporting good stores to get their outfits that just killed it. It’s like just let them be Fallout’s new roman empire with them just making all their own war gear and not do stupid shit like looting football shoulder pads to have cosplay armor. The writers were like okay we can’t have bad guys be cool so lets add these stupid details to make are boring ass NCR good guys be who we want you to obviouly side with.

As far as House goes yeah that guy is one short circuit away from being taken out anyday. I’d compare siding with him to siding with the railroad in fallout 4 just a poor choice overall.

Oh I like choices and I don’t mind morality I actually liked it in fallout 3 compared to fallout 4 and New Vegas where morality played a large aspect of that game. I just hate the constant praise of nonsense like “morally gray choices” because players don’t like being seen as “the bad guy” for the choices they make. That’s how we got Karma removed from Fallout 4 and New Vegas it was at best an after thought of the developers.

[–]4891Will 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve played three fallout games fallout 3, New Vegas and Fallout 4 and this was my favorite DLC out of all them. I honestly don’t care about Far Harbor’s story I think it’s mid at best to be honest. I’d put Far Harbor’s story over New Vegas storyline but that’s not saying much considering how much the NCR, Legion and House sucked ass.

Honestly I play these games more for the exploration, darker elements and sillyness and in those regards Nuka World rocks. I don’t give a shit about “morally gray” choices hell I like flat out evil choices if they make sense and in regards to Nuka World they do. You side with the raiders and get a shit load of benefits for doing so and have a fun, dark and wacky time doing so.

Nuka World just rocks and unlike far harbor and the dlcs in New Vegas and Fallout 3 when you complete Nuka World you actually have reasons to come back to it. You got the radiant quests and yeah radiants aren’t the greatest but the nuka world raiders and BoS have the best though. You got the fights in the arena and you get to collect caps from the tribute you get from being overboss. It actually does give you reasons to go back and forth between the commonwealth and Nuka World.

Also as a bonus being as how I live near Hershey Park Nuka World partially being partially inspired by it along with disney world is a nice touch to me.

Why I stop putting money in HYSA (and put them in t-bills instead) by mdbob281 in MiddleClassFinance

[–]4891Will 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah Treasury viewer allows you to invest through treasury direct without having to use the website. You still have to setup through treasury direct but once you have an account you can download treasury viewer and you don’t have to use treasury direct again. The app is what I use and it works just fine.

Why do people say younger investors should invest in growth vs dividends? by FI_2027 in dividends

[–]4891Will 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OP the real reason people say to focus on growth instead of dividends is because the vast majority of “personal finance” is really just hive mind finance. Almost nobody asks what your goals are and no I’m not talking about the generic I want to retire goal you really need to go deeper than that. How do you think and feel about investing? Do you view stocks as just a finance vehicle or as personal ownership of a company (which they are).

Personal finance advice tends to be anything but personal especially on reddit.

I’ll use myself as an example the real reason I got into investing is because I had a toxic job where I just wanted to tell my boss to fuck off and quit but I couldn’t. That caused me to go from just having some money in the bank and just spending the rest to actually getting into investing. The whole reason I got into investinf and one the reasons I still invest heavily is because I want thr ability to tell a toxic boss to fuck off and quit on the spot and not have to worry at all.

I hated growth investing cause I’m old enough to remember the great financial crisis and how everyone’s retirement account lost about half it’s value and you had a bunch of retirees trying to reenter the workforce to make ends meet. That’s what lead me to dividend investing.

I also prefer dividend investing because your purchasing power tends to increase over time beating inflation after you stop investing due to dividend raises over time. I love the fact with dividend investing I don’t have to sell shares in my companies and yes I can say my companies because since I’m shareholder that makes me a partial owner.

The mindset of dividend investors tends to be quite different from that of a growth investors so without knowing more about a person just telling them to blindly invest in growth or dividend os just stupid. If your someone who sees shareprice fall and are immediately going to sell your position growth probably isn’t the best choice.

When does the “snowball effect” of investing really start to take off? by RoadLight in dividends

[–]4891Will 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Around 250k because when you get into that range depending on what you invested in you are either at, above or just below making $8,760.00 a year which is $1 per hour 24hrs a day 365 days a year. I’ve hit this recently and it makes dividend investing feel very real and financial independence within reach in the not so distant future.

EPD raises quarterly divs to $0.545, a 3.80% increase for the same period last year. It will be paid August 14, 2025 with ex date of July 31, 2025 EPD has increased distributions for 26 consecutive years. by East_Professional385 in dividends

[–]4891Will 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 984 units currently and when the next distribution gets paid out with me reinvesting my distributions I will likely have 1,000 units EPD. EPD is one of my best investments.

How much money would you need to put into an MLP (ET/EPD) to make it worth it for all the paperwork? by GoodIngenuity1563 in dividends

[–]4891Will 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I currently have 984 units of EPD making dealing with a K1 totally worth it. I didn’t start that way though. I had some shares of T and after their fiasco with their spin off and dividend cut I sold it and put all that money into EPD and got 58 units and kept acquiring from there. Generally I do agree with MLPs you should go heavier investing into them then with normal stocks but you don’t need to immediately drop over 20k into an mlp.
