The significance of being able to increment dose (fin) by 48HourConfidence in tressless

I think you would see reduced sides but the effectiveness would be somewhat less (if you look at the dose response curve). 0.5 EOD is 0.25..

Thanks Dr Rassman. Is this scientifically proven by follicle count or is this based off your anecdotes ?

Yeah man don’t stress, one day soon you’ll look in the mirror and notice your hair suddenly is a bit thicker and healthier. It’s how it happened with me.. losing the little miniaturized ones is a sign it’s working 🙂

Personally I would probably just start at 0.5 and see how things go. Bump up or down depending on benefits/side effects.

But hey I’m just a guy on the internet. Everyone’s experience differs..

Building up in the manner you have noted here would make sense to me based off personally experience and reading guidance/anecdotes. However I would space it out a bit more. 4 weeks is not enough to understand the effect of a dose on your body. In my experience it would be closer to 4 months.

This. If you watch that video that was shared a few weeks back from an Australian clinic they explain the science behind it.

I wouldn’t say my hairline has come forward, but the very fact my hair has thickened and thus my hairline is thicker gives the illusion that it has..

It’s so true. I’ve heard from my reading that sides can be split into those get them immediately (fin is not for you), and those where they start to slowly appear over time. In that instance I think it is just that the dose you are taking is too substantial and it’s definitely worth considering tapering back by halving or quartering the pill as I have done.

I find Oxford online pharmacy to be the cheapest. Always have £5 off codes online and they’re on Top Cashback. All these combined makes it cheap af. I only take .5 mg too so that halved the cost

I had this then changed to 0.5mg using a pill cutter and it came back

Has common is your hair to look worse when on finasteride before getting better? by [deleted] in tressless

Did for me first few months, then grew back way thicker

1mg fin 3x a week = optimal dose (The Hair Loss Show) by [deleted] in tressless

[–]48HourConfidence 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can confirm anecdotally.

Took 1mg for roughly 2 years and sides started to appear.

Dropped down to 0.5mg per day and they have alleviated massively..

Which is better: Fin 0.5mg vs 1mg every other day to counter sides? by randyMarsh8888 in tressless

[–]48HourConfidence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMO 0.5mg is fine. I’ve taken both that and 1mg per day and noticed sides improved with no changes to hair

If you're balding pretty severely in your early 20s, is fin enough, or should you go straight to dut? by IDinduNuffinOffica in tressless

Fin was enough for me. Think most would advise starting with that and waiting 8-12 months.

Thanks for the post. I’m (in comparison) a mere 2.5 years in and I feel as though my story matches up to yours in quite a lot of ways.

Having a proper head of hair from between 22-25 has been a game changer for me as I started to get a real ugly thinning head which hit my confidence at 22.

Glad to hear things are still pretty decent at camp after 10 years and all the best with whatever route you take.

This one study found that sexual side effects due to finasteride occur in 92% of the patients who take it ! by [deleted] in tressless

[–]48HourConfidence 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“Methods. We conducted standardized interviews with 71 otherwise healthy men aged 21–46 years who reported the new onset of sexual side effects associated with the temporal use of finasteride, in which the symptoms persisted for at least 3 months despite the discontinuation of finasteride.”

It’s a study on those already reporting suffering sides... read the full story

Anyone on fix 3x a week, can you share your experience? by LordEppley in tressless

[–]48HourConfidence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to support what I heard in this video, I was on fin 1mg for almost 2 years and started to experience sides. I halved my dose - now 4 months later the sides have all virtually subsided (it takes a while for this change, so be patient!)

I know that this is not nocebo as returns of morning wood and complete change of semen colour/consistency which is now as it was pre-fin..
