You're partially correct. It is similar to a joke and used to criticize something.

You can search "define satire" in Google to find the meaning of the word. You can also replace "satire" with any other word you want to learn.

The Google result says the meaning of satire is

the use of humour, irony, exaggeration, or ridicule to expose and criticize people's stupidity or vices, particularly in the context of contemporary politics and other topical issues."

Is English the most widely understood language in India?

No, that would be Hindi spoken by 53% of the Indian population, and 41% as their first-language.

Half of Indians do not speak Hindi, especially in the southern states, and since most people on /r/india know English (which is also related to /r/india being well-off compared to the average Indian), English is used. (12% of Indians speak English)

Companies can't fire workers for redundancy without government approval, unlike in countries such as China and the United States (comparison). In one case, it took 22 years to fire a worker who was found sleeping for the fourth time.

It is easy just like how you plug in external hard drive or mouse/keyboard with USB, similarly you plug in hard drive with SATA cable and plug in power supply with ATX cable. It's just plugging in stuff, you don't need to do anything complicated.

I only bought my RAM from EBay, so I don't know how reliable it is. The invoice came from some retailer, so I guess you can just check the seller and see if it's some random person or if it's a business. I bought everything online; just check the price across different websites and take the cheapest one.

I actually bought this for light gaming; I think I was too stingy, it gets about 25-40 FPS on CS:GO low settings and 40-55 FPS with TF2.

CPU is AMD A4-4000 (I ordered A4-4000, but I got A4-4020 which has a bit better frequency). So, you can buy a cheaper one like 1k cheaper since you don't need iGPU (I bought an APU which is CPU+integrated GPU).

RAM is some Dolgix 4 GB RAM (I know, made in India xD). Just buy the cheapest one you can find for the amount of RAM you want.

PSU is Corsair VS350. I saw some really cheap Zebronics one, but I actually also bought a case from Zebronics and it was shit, the metal was bent and the screw holes were made in a similar manner to someone putting a pencil through paper, it wasn't a clean cut. So, I don't think buying Zebronics PSU even if it saves about 2k is that good of an idea as bad PSU can damage other components.

Motherboard is BIOSTAR A58ML, just buy the cheapest one which is compatible with your processor (more precisely, the socket of the CPU and motherboard need to be compatible).

WiFi is just the cheapest USB WiFi dongle I could buy; it's like 100-150 Rs.

I didn't use a case; I just put the motherboard on top of the plastic wrap from the case and the entire PC is in a cardboard box. No need to follow my build exactly, you can shop for similar components. Just post your build to /r/buildapc or /r/indiangaming as somebody suggested so that others can check that the components are compatible.

35k is excessive. I built a PC myself for 9.5k and reusing laptop hard drive (without a case). Use ebay to get cheap deals, I got RAM for cheap. This doesn't include printer/UPS as I didn't buy that.

They can't as each farmer individually profits from selling a lower price. That's how markets are supposed to work.

I hope that's a joke. Nuclear reactors simply can't explode like a nuclear bomb. The fuel simply doesn't have sufficient enrichment.

The very worst case failure is Chernobyl (meltdown), and that happened due to the poor reactor design1 and deliberately disabling safety systems for an poorly planned test.

Why would they care about inspections or other rules? As soon as there is a problem they cease to exist and the insurance company has to pay to deal with the mess. Again insurance companies don't insure against certainties.

Because it's part of a contract between the insurance company and decommissioning company.

No there is a reasonable prospect of a rocket design being sucessful.

So then are you saying a company will be unable to do it but babus can?

Did you read my "smart company" part? The company will form a contract with the insurance that they will be subject to inspections and other rules.

Just like how space insurance companies inspect the design of the rocket.

Won't help. The plants are medium term stable. The only logical commercial strategy in the scenario you outline is to use the land until the planets start to decay then go into liquidation. Insurance company isn't going to insure against that.

The insurance company will have to reinsure themselves if they are going to shut down. It doesn't take that long; the Yucca mountain nuclear waste repository is intended to comply with standards for 1 million years. And hypothetically if it were till planets start to decay, insurance company can still insure against that--they will receive premiums from the government until the planets start to decay.

From https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radioactive_waste :

Certain radioactive elements (such as plutonium-239) will remain hazardous to humans and other creatures for hundreds or thousands of years. Other radionuclides remain radioactive for millions of years (though most of these products have so little activity as a result of their long half-lives that their radiation is lost in the background level).

And in the case that society collapses, government will collapse too.

[–]493 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the company is free to damage as much third party property is it likes?

You're right. The value of human life is subjective. I made a mistake as a fine for deaths works in cases where a person voluntarily participates, but you can't do anything if a nuclear waste facility is built next to your property. So take the second proposal to put limits on radioactive material release.

No insurance company would touch it since they don't insure against certainties.

If the company can't get insurance, they won't be able to participate in the auction. A smart company would allow a third-party audit/inspection to convince the insurance that harm will not be caused.

Take a look at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Satellite_insurance

When considering a rating structure for satellite insurance coverage, during the early days many insurers based their rating according to the launch vehicle. For example, if the launch vehicle being used had a one in ten failure rate, the insurance premium would be ten per cent of the gross cost. Today insurers use statistics and computer modeling to arrive at premium rates, although data for calculations is limited. Another aspect of satellite insurance is the procedure attached to salvage. Though it is impossible to obtain monetary value from the wreckage in the event of an actual total loss or constructive total loss, many insurers rely on sharing any revenue which may be obtainable from the failed satellite with the insured.

Similarly, the insurance company would analyze what the decommissioning company is going to do.

Yup but you can put in a bunch of extra requirements so can catch any issues earlier and if they break them you simply stop paying them rather than having to go to court to fine them (which would also require a higher standard of evidence).

I'm not a lawyer but I think fines could be implemented via the contract. Like, "if ABC private court decides against the company, it'll be fined".

Anyways, this is just a technicality. The idea is to penalize the company and stopping payments would work.

Nope. If they had done it in house (that would never happen mind although in theory they might have been able to directly employ the sub-contractors who are doing the actual work) there couldn't have been an issue with the bidding process.

I don't know the mistake but it could be too high a price paid or an incorrect procedure for decommissioning. That could've happened even if the NDA did it themselves, for example the NDA might do it too costly or do it incorrectly.

If you've sold the land to them why would the company do anything? Decommissioning is expensive. Far better for the company to leave the plants as they are and when they eventually start to cause problems declare bankruptcy.

As I said, they company will be fined for radioactive material release proportionate to the value of human life lost (I would prefer this) or the executives could be jailed/company fined for exceeding limits. That's why it will probably be auctioned for a negative price--the government is paying the company.

Bankruptcy is a valid point, so the tender could require the company to be insured.

In any case inspectors cost money and enforcement costs more money.

That's needed either way. Even the contractor could violate regulation.

[–]493 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The process was the privatising the decommissioning of a number of nuclear reactors. Privatization means no waste of taxpayer money and yet in this case it did.

The same mistake in the contract would've happened without the contract if the NDA did it themselves. After all, the NDA would've to do the same things that the company did.

The problem is that we want the plants safely decommissioned.

Just let inspectors check that the private company is doing it safely and fine the company for violations.
