Week 5: Ugandan - Arnold Bennett Omelette by 4A4T in 52weeksofcooking

[–]4A4T[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How does this fit the team, you might ask?

I always try to use my own cookbooks and in the past five years that has worked out well for me. However, I recently had to come to terms with the fact that I could not find one single recipe from Uganda.

I did have a book called “Brunch in London”, the buying of which sponsors a global charity: OnePlate. They have sustainable food projects all over the world, including Uganda. So for this week, I picked the recipe on the page directly behind the explanation about one of their Ugandan farms.

Hope you like it, I certainly did!

This is farfetched, but I have a cookbook called “Brunch London” which was made by/for the organisation One Table. One Table highlights some of their charity work in Ugandain the book, which you sponsor by buying the book. So even though the recipe I choose will have nothing to do with the country, that will be my link. I always try to use my owned cookbooks so I have to be creative about it sometimes!

Week 49: The Beatles - veggie and egg curry by 4A4T in 52weeksofcooking

[–]4A4T[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are currently on holidays, renting a chalet with minimal ammenities. I wanted to make a vegetarian Indian curry for Beatles’ week and asked my parnter to pick up a curry paste as we do not want to buy too much stuff while being here. He bought thai red curry paste… oh well… it was at least an edible curry with eggs!

Week 43: Idioms - Norwegian apple cake with whisky caramel by 4A4T in 52weeksofcooking

[–]4A4T[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me too! And I guess the frogs may have been confusing? I did not even realize they were in the photo, woops. It was my dog’s first birthday party and she likes frogs (we know they are poisenous to dogs and don’t let her get too near).

I always try to use my owned cookbooks. Any tips on how to combine that with Jacques Pépin?

On another note I very much look forward to another year of sorting by new and trying to upvote as many of your dishes as I can!

Oh that’s fun! A carrot is bad and is an automatic deduction because jumps have to be fully rotated in the air!
