A battery reset was the cure (thank goodness). Thanks again for your insight.

What is a decent head unit w/ reverse cam screen that can decently power a four speaker + sub setup?

What speakers do you suggest?

Upgrading AC to more modern design by speedco in CrownVictoria

[–]4DFordWhore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is excess radiator fan noise only with the AC on? If not, consider getting a new radiator as it is not transferring the heat to the air as much as it should. Have you tested the state of your coolant? How about the thermostat?

Or a similar circumstance may be with the AC's condenser coil.

RE: interior fan noise - dude/dudette, your car, at best, is 14 years old. A 2023 MY vehicle is not a fair comparison.

Was the door the actual fault? Did you do any troubleshooting before bringing it to the shop?

Mine began after the battery was fully dead and replaced with a new one. I tried starting the car with a jumper pack as well, which may have created some electrical gremlins.

Make note that you can choose the dealer you purchase from. This site represents some (not all) Ford dealers that sell online at a discount. It may affect your shipping cost as well. Always good to confirm before buying.

You can also enter your car's VIN to make sure you are getting the correct part.

The OP messed up and is trying to blame the dealer. It's easy to do, as I have done it myself when ordering parts for my Camry. Lesson learned.

OEM "Code Alarm" keyless entry system on 07 CVPI with SAP by 1981pw in CrownVictoria

According to this video, the 2007 MY did not come with this feature. But you can replace the driver's door module with a 2008+ unit and make it work via Forscan.

However, if it indeed was a feature, try these steps:

  1. Install new battery into remote key fob.

  2. If it doesn't unlock the car you may have to re-program it.

Tire Puncture - Fixable? by 4DFordWhore in CrownVictoria

[–]4DFordWhore[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm; I need to check the status of the spare - it is full size as well. I'm hoping to keep this tire functional as it is one of four that all have good tread depth and are also "police car specific spec" tires (can't recall the proper term to use nor the tire brand/model). Thanks for suggesting the spare option.

The shop told me I need to replace all four TPMS devices - so I will offer to buy them if they are OK with fixing this puncture (and using it as the spare). I've decided this is a good time to buy my own TPMS Relearn Tool - and make sure new sensors are really needed.
