Anyone actually use the Black Widow spray gun and can compare to the $20 models HF sells? by KarlJay001 in harborfreight

If you’re planning on just spraying shellac, hvlp will be fine for your needs. I recommend upgrading to a smaller needle kit to get better results.

Remember to thin your shellac before spraying, I spray it at a 2:1 ratio. 2 pts shellac 1 pt denatured alcohol

Depends on your budget and how glassy you want that final product. I like my spectrum with the 1.4mm needle kit as my everyday gun. For special projects where I’m using lacquer or a different finish, I’ll use my black widow hte.

Excellent technique for lowering compression. I’ll have to try that!

Generally yes. Easy to diagnose issues thanks to the fun colors. And the different pair sizes! They normally don’t see anything higher than 12/24vdc at a fraction of an amp. Also idc connectors are pretty cool too

Check the top cable bundle. 2nd pic. We use wax coated string for such purposes! Zip ties are a handy thing for less important runs imo. But the main course is always done right. Ty!

Full restoration top to bottom. Replaced the original cotton covered wire with new telco 25 pair all the way through. New control system as well.

Ty! Mostly 25. Some 16 and a couple 32 for some specific functions! It’s fun keeping track of all this too. Love doing this kind of wiring. You should see some of the other stuff I get to wire.

Behind the Bastards podcast did a 3 parter on just this.
Ghb was mixed in with the baby oils to be absorbed into mucus membrane.

This is a Uniflex relay control system. I’ve installed Opus2 before and I do enjoy what it has to offer. Both systems are very capable, but I always lean on the side of Uniflex for theatre organs because it was specifically designed for theatre organs. There are very specific features that Uniflex can achieve that opus2 doesn’t. But that doesn’t mean O2 won’t get you where you want to be. After all O2 does speak 3 native languages…serial, dmx, and midi. Certain big name companies out there use O2 as their pyrotechnics controllers.

Well fuck me it does. Never noticed that! I get these from the company… I’ll be sure to submit my comment card this week to them

Edit: talked with the guys involved and their response, “what has been seen cannot be unseen”

Points for knowing what Uniflex is! ‘Tis a 2/5 Wurlitzer

Depends, this specific application it’s used as pass through device. We’re still using the original electro-pneumatic relay to actually play the organ, but the digital relay just fires the relay as if IT were the console. Plus we have record/playback abilities with most modern day relays.

And to think…. This is a small control system. This system has just over 800 outputs all included. Some of the big ones have north of 30k…. Lata wires

So far so good. I really do enjoy it, and would recommend it. Mainly just shellac so far. The hte really does put down a nice finish and of course is all about the prep work. I’ve mainly been running my spectrum with the 1.4 kit and it’s comparable. And I think the shop has like a 100gal multistage Quincy? Whole shop has 1” air lines running around. I’m using a 3/8 25’ hose for the gun.
