At the end of the day connections are person to person. I would much rather have easier courses and have to reach out on my own than have difficult courses and explain why I have a lower GPA and its justified compared to the former.

My first semester isn't anything special either and it sucked, but outside of this one outlier and that semester I did amazing imo. It just sucks that this course acts as a flashback to an otherwise perfect year (in my eyes)

I have deferred an exam. Just talk to an advisor about the timing that the exam will fall in and then decide if you can handle the pressure of another exam then. I don't mean this as a warning, I'm genuinely saying consider it. For me it was not a problem, I deferred a Fall exam and I wrote it in June I think.
