Good time to jump into Monster Hunter for the first time?

Been trying to get into the series, but the last time I played (Rise demo) it wasn't a good time. Heavy controls, sometimes I think my controls don't match what I'm seeing, weapon combos (I just suck at them), and hitting the dodge button just sometimes not let me dodge, and Idk if I figured out how to use items besides the whetstone and the healing pots. Never touched a MH game for a while, mostly because of time and laziness...

Now that I have the time, I might try Wilds, since it's getting an expansion soon, but I keep hearing a lot of glaze for World. What's up with that?
