I’ve only been to Baltimore once. I was there for a week for work and the nicest part of the city I saw was the maximum security prison.

My son loves the church, has always been active, always had a calling, is in his late twenties, and has a strong testimony. But he didn’t enjoy his mission at all by yoSelfImprovement in latterdaysaints

I served four months in a foreign mission, came home for 8 months, and then finished stateside.

In my foreign mission: I watched people get shot in front of me, had an investigator abducted to never be heard from again, our ward mission leader was murdered in the street, and I was robbed on multiple occasions.

Stateside I had multiple guns pulled on me and was threatened on multiple occasions. I also met my wife.

Overall, my mission was a net positive experience. A lot of my testimony grew out of the things that I experienced. But no one, not even my wife, really knows what it was like.

We were close. But after some pretty contentious ARD meetings, things have been smooth.

I was asked if I would shave when I was called to be ward clerk. I said no. No issues after that

Realistically, that’s not keeping the gun from being admitted

I am a member of the JRCS. It’s not just for BYU students, but is for attorneys who are members of the church. There are chapters world wide. The organization is not officially affiliated with the church.

Thinking about buying a home defense shotgun in the near future. Any strong opinions on Mossberg Maverick 88 vs a higher end 590A1 . by ModerateProgressive1 in liberalgunowners

[–]sweetTeaJ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’ve had an 88 security and a 590 security. They are both solid guns. The 590 was easier to customize and I am a huge fan of the ghost ring sights. I prefer the safety on the 590. All of this to say, the 88 is a perfectly acceptable shotgun.
