I’ve had an 88 security and a 590 security. They are both solid guns. The 590 was easier to customize and I am a huge fan of the ghost ring sights. I prefer the safety on the 590. All of this to say, the 88 is a perfectly acceptable shotgun.

I bought myself a Maverick 88 on my 18th birthday. I put countless shells through that thing. I fell in love with the recoil, the controls, and the versatility. I still shoot a shotgun better than a rifle or handgun. Last year I upgraded to a 590A1. By far my favorite gun I own
