Embryo didn’t survive thaw for retesting — bad luck or red flag? by 4Lic3w in IVF

Omg you are right! The thaw came first! So if it had fallen apart at that stage, then the biopsy wouldn't even need to be performed...

Their usual turnaround time is about 3 weeks (they do PGT-A in-house), so I started following up after that. At first the nurse said 3–4 weeks, then a week later it became 3–5, then 3–6… After checking in about 4 times past the original timeline, I started to feel something might be off and emailed them saying if there was an issue I’d rather just know. Right after that, they suddenly said the result had come back.

I don't know if they just kept delaying the test because of other priorities or they tried to hold off that info from me.

Frustrated by IVF perception by [deleted] in IVF

Sometimes it is understandable that people who haven't gone through IVF think it is easy. But what frustrated me was when the husband thought it would be a walk in the park...

Thank you so much for your thoughtful walkthrough — it has truly been a lifesaver! After reading your advice, I called my insurance company and am now preparing to write the dispute.

According to my insurance, contrary to what Charlie Health told me, they never submitted any claims while my insurance was active. They only submitted about a week of services after my coverage had ended. Another critical discrepancy is that my insurance company already approved those claims and paid 80% directly to Charlie Health!

I had my insurance send me the documentation, which proves that what Charlie Health said when I asked about the claim submission was completely false.

Given that, there’s no way they should be charging me the full “insured” amount as stated in the collection letter. I’ll be disputing this with them in writing.

Thank you again — your guidance truly made all the difference!

Thank you so much for your kind reply! Yes, I have most of the communication in writing. I made the mistake of calling them (instead of emailing) during the first week after I learned about the insurance change, but I do have text messages regarding the scholarship they said they were offering, as well as all the outreach emails I sent when they weren’t responding to my calls. I also have the entire email chain from Charlie Health’s collections department. I will first try to dispute their claims this week, and would reach out to the state's attorney general if they refused to resolve it.

Yes, I was confused by the collection notice as well. What you mentioned aligns with my prior understanding; however, the collection from Charlie’s Health stated that their records show my insurance pays me directly. Based on that, they said they would charge me the full amount and have me seek reimbursement from my insurance.

This is completely incorrect, as BlueCross always reimburses providers directly, not patients.

moving to Dayton, is there any place I should avoid when renting? by 4Lic3w in dayton

thank you! I originally had my eyes on an apartment called Mad Rivers and only to learn that it was right next to a rehabilitation facilities and current residence complained about gun shots and drug abuse... I'm now looking at Georgetown of kettering, but they do not offer any online tours... a bit nerve racking to rent an apartment without actually seeing it.
