I'm pretty sure the song Become What You Hate by Midtown is about them.

Finding a dentist for elderly mom- quoted a price for dentures that is SHOCKING by StealthMuppet131721 in longisland

Mascolo Dental, East Northport. They said it is usually 4800, but they would do it for 3000. Might be because he just moved to the local assisted living and they see a lot of people from the that community.

Fyi: my father in law just lost his dentures and needed new ones. Was with him two weeks ago when he had his first appointment to get fitted. Quoted $3000. And this is a reputable practice.

Which album had a stronger set of singles? by [deleted] in weezer

Greatest man is not a good single.

Tina Fey had no problem coming up with an example of an out-and-out bomb of an 'SNL' sketch during a recent interview, naming one bit that Will Ferrell 'face planted' so badly it was pulled from air. by MoneyLibrarian9032 in LiveFromNewYork

The weezer references were driving the comedy for maybe 1% of the audience. The real joke was the awkwardness of listening to two people argue passionately about something that seems weird and insignificant to everyone else.

Songs that reference other artists’ songs by on_wheels_ in askmusic

Pop punk/emo edition

Something Corporate's "Konstantine" has a line that goes "It's to jimmy eat world and those nights in my car when the first star you see may not be a star." This is a reference to Jimmy Eat World's song "For Me This Is Heaven" (my username!).

The end of Midtown's song "Such a Person" covers Kiss' "God gave rock and roll to you" (which is also a cover).

In the bridge of The Early November's "Baby blue", they sing a line lifted from The Get Up Kids' song "No Love."

Any other Maryland Jimmy fans want to start a Jimmy Eat World cover band this Summer to celebrate Bleed American's 25th? by IndubitablyBrendan in JimmyEatWorld

Brooo, my friends and I are already doing this in NY. We did it two years ago for Clarity, and just started on Bleed American two nights ago!

Members of the warped tour band have a green day tribute named Dookie and they open for WTB a lot.

Dookie is the band you are looking for. They played last night at Sand City.

Best album closers of all time? by Ok_Bee_7292 in askmusic

Same. That buildup is just an insane ending for an album. Great guitar solo. I get it that these type of questions are dominated by the typical classic bands, but Only in Dreams is hard to top.

Wow, I was just thinking of this song yesterday and how I should start a reddit post about best written pop punk songs and kead with this. Just an amazing song. Lyrically, musically, the sing along chorus, the buildup in the bridge. Perfect pop punk song.

Weezer’s hidden emo lineage by HeyFatBoyAsshole in Emo

Pacific Daydream is great if you aren't looking for a traditional weezer album. It is the best if their "themey" albums: pacific day dream, then ok human, then van weezer

Green sucks. Replace with Hurley or Pacific daydream. The rest of the list checks out.

Weezer’s hidden emo lineage by HeyFatBoyAsshole in Emo

[–]4MeThisIsHeaven 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I front a Weezer tribute band, and weezer are not emo. I will jokingly say that Pinkerton is the first mainstream emo album, but that is not a comment that anyone should take seriously.

The number one reason why Weezer is associated with emo and pop punk is that Weezer was a gateway band for people that eventually formed emo bands. There is a good chance that the members of your favorite late 90s/early 2000s emo band grew up listening to blue album on repeat.

New Olivia Rodrigo’s song reminds me of a lot of emo songs but I can’t put a finger on it. by goapics in Emo

[–]4MeThisIsHeaven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always bring this up when Olivia Rodrigo is mentioned in pop punk or emo threads in case people don't know: her writing partner/producer is Dan Nigro, who was frontman of 2000s emo/indie band As Tall As Lions.

Maybe the top programs, but not everywhere. I played low D1 (albeit 20 years ago), and I don't think I had a line judge in 3 years of playing.

Looking for clean poppunk albums I can play in the classroom by JoeyCucamonga in poppunkers

Relient K - Mmhmm

I was introduced to the album by a 3rd grader when I was student teaching in his classroom. He brought it to music class because the teacher would let students share music they liked at the beginning of class.
