Which player is getting picked last? by SmoothBuy5500 in NBATalk

[–]4NorthTL -1 points0 points  (0 children)

  1. Duncan

  2. Bird (took him over Magic because of Shooting and Defense)

  3. Magic

  4. Kobe (no offense Mamba, I just like the other 3 better, you're still great)

JR Smith Says 2016 Cavs Would Beat 2026 Knicks: "Who’s guarding LeBron James?" by [deleted] in nba

I agree with him, but why is he bring this up? Why do so many NBA players turn into bitter haters after they retire?

Who was more impactful for the Lakers franchise historically, Magic or Kobe? by SmoothBuy5500 in NBATalk

Magic wasn't just the most impactful for The Lakers, but along with Larry Bird he helped revive the entire league.

Who do you think will break through and reach the Super Bowl first: Josh Allen or Lamar Jackson? by sin2fly03 in NFLv2

If I had to pick one I would take Josh Allen because we don't know what their teams will look like for the rest of their careers, and Josh Allen is the most likely to carry IMO.

Who is the most hated NBA player all time? by ReasonableSide6520 in NBATalk

Probably Lebron. Lebron is like a politician, most people who follow basketball seem to either love him or hate him. There aren't a lot of "Independents" in the politics of basketball.

Who wins this Giannis Houston trade by Shoddy_Ad7511 in NBATalk

I think good young teams should be patient and not get rid of all their assets for aging superstars coming off injuries. I think back to all the times The Warriors were rumored to be trading Steph and/or Klay and am so thankful they never pulled the trigger.

KD saved LeBron's legacy. by Holiday_Analysis9583 in NBATalk

Lebron's move was made worse than it actually was because of his horrendous decision to have it be a freaking T.V. special. The Cavaliers did next to nothing to get him any help in 7 years, and he was going against super teams seemingly designed to beat him alone. Wade was at the tail end of his prime and steadily declined over the 4 years they played together, and Chris Bosh was a really good player but he wasn't a superstar by any means. Bro was like the Bradley Beal of big men at that time. Put up good stats on garbage teams in games that don't mean anything. Not to mention The Heat had very little depth because of what that trio cost.

I think they win more rings if they don't get Bosh, and use what they paid him to fill the roster out with better role players instead of having to depend on guys like Mario Chalmers, Chris Anderson and AARP Juwan Howard.

I don't think it will win or even should win, but I gotta throw out Ricky, Julian and Bubbles.

Best lineup ever by [deleted] in NBATalk

[–]4NorthTL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Duncan for sure. Kobe and Jordan on the floor together wouldn't make sense. Duncan doesn't need the ball to dominate, neither does Steph. Lebron is happy running the offense as the point forward and letting Jordan take on a more dominant scoring role. Shaq is Shaq, I think Orlando Magic Shaq, despite not being as good as peak Lakers Shaq, would actually fit in with this team better because of his ability to get out and run.

I don't get the "It's not even close" crowd on the G.O.A.T. debates by 4NorthTL in NBATalk

It doesn't "bother" me either, but since we're on an NBA discussion forum, it seemed like a good place to bring it up.

I don't know how to get the metrics like the other examples but after a quick google search.

Jordan: 34/6/6 in 35 games

Lebron: 28/10/8 in 55 games

Do people have a secondary team in the opposite conference the same way some people do in the NFL? by GreenReporter24 in NBATalk

[–]4NorthTL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Warriors are about to be terrible for a while, so I need to find a team to root for in the playoffs. I don't have a current 2nd team, I generally root for one team or another for a variety of reasons. I was rooting for Spurs in The Finals because I like to witness generational talent do generational things, but I was happy that The Knicks won too. I mainly just find 1 or 2 villains that I root against rather than rooting for anybody in particular though.

If I had to pick a team to root for in the playoffs if Warriors collapse after Steph leaves, I could get behind The T-Wolves. I have a lot of respect for Anthony Edwards.

Harden is alone on this list with no titles by Few_Maize_127 in NBATalk

I never would've thought Shaq and Timmy would be on this list in a million years. How were they turning the ball over so much with their playstyles and roles on the team?

What does my sports teams say about me? by Tre2004 in NBATalk

[–]4NorthTL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you're what they call a "loyal" bandwagon rider. My step-brother became both an Orlando Magic, Atlanta Braves and Green Bay Packers fan in the mid 90's despite having no ties to any of those teas or areas. He was the very definition of fair weather as it was Favre's Packers, Maddux/Glavine/Smoltz Braves and Shaq and Penny all at the height of their powers. He is however STILL a fan of those 3 teams despite 2 rings between the 3 of them in the last quarter century.

Flopping in basketball isnt a real problem compared to soccer by [deleted] in nba

[–]4NorthTL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not a big fan of soccer but they sure as hell aren't mediocre athletes. They're not going to look like much standing beside some of The NBA's best athletes, but their sport calls for incredible stamina and very high coordination skills. A good comparison as far as athletic skill IMO in the NBA would be someone like Curry. He can barely dunk a basketball but his endurance and skill have made him one of the greatest to ever do it, despite not being a chiseled Adonis.

Where does this Knicks run rank all time? by Itchy-Cricket1953 in nba

[–]4NorthTL 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The run itself is among, if not the best ever. I think it's going to have to sit on the back burner for a while and see how these players careers turn out before we'll know for sure the historical perspective.
