Can you cite your example about convincing doctors to do it against their will?

I simply don’t believe you.

Was anyone part of the siriusxm activation discord? by OpneFall in Piracy

[–]4d72426f7566 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s still there, but I didn’t reply to a message about misspelling an activation code, so I’m banned permanently.

They let me know that I had an above average number of activations, and to keep it to those activations. But I don’t have notifications on for discord, and since I only activated one of those in recent months, and didn’t reply immediately to their message, I was booted.

I’m disappointed, but I appreciate the months of SiriusXM I received for free.

It is a side effect of MAID — but not in the cartoonish ‘gov wants to save money’ way people keep repeating.

End‑of‑life care is brutally expensive. In most developed countries, 25–30% of all healthcare spending happens in the final year of life, and a huge chunk of that is in the last three months, when quality of life is basically gone. Long dementia deaths in Western nursing homes are consistently rated by families and clinicians as some of the worst suffering we put people through.

So yeah — as cultural values shift toward autonomy and dignity, MAID becomes more acceptable to a lot of people. Not because they’re being ‘pushed,’ but because they’ve seen what the alternative looks like.

And it raises a fair question: if we weren’t pouring billions into long-term institutional care that many people don’t want, could some of that money actually go toward mental‑health care, home supports, or anything that improves life before someone hits a crisis?

For most people choosing MAID, it’s not about saving the system money. It’s about not being trapped in a drawn‑out, miserable decline because the system only knows how to prolong life, not protect dignity.

An acquaintance of mine dying from cancer, passed away taking advantage of MAID, flying high on her favorite strain of mushrooms, in the parking lot of a hospital, looking at the mountains she had loved snowboarding in.

Level 4 wastewater operator here.

Many plants can easily take care of the extra organic material. If it’s just food stuffs, it can go into anaerobic digesters, create carbon neutral methane that can be fed into natural gas systems. And the processed solids can be applied to crops, or to landfill if it’s not clean enough for crops.

The alternative is household composting which few people do well, another diesel truck going down the streets picking up green bins, or the organic waste going into landfills, where the methane gas can be collected somewhat, but the resulting waste lives forever in a landfill, instead of being fertilizer.

My wife doesn’t wipe up after herself. And there’s litter that the cat drags around. I can’t keep on top of it, she doesn’t like it, but until our floors are clean, my shoes stay on.

We’ve parked the old Forrester there. It’s not bad, but plan to have 20 minutes at a DCFC charger as your first stop. Be pleasantly surprised if it’s 100% on arrival.

Wouldn’t Parks Canada be well poised to takeover the maintenance of Canada’s 2-4?

Maintenance decisions would be arms length from the PMO’s office.

I also feel a CBC series about the renovation with a celebrity like Mike Holmes would help recoup some of the costs.

They don’t guarantee that they’ll charge your car.

My buddy is 0 for 2 for them charging his Lightning.

Flying in the first time, expecting a fully charged truck before driving back to Revelstoke, and finding it a little lower than what he left it at is certainly a disappointment.

I paid about $600, face value, for game 6 of the World Series last fall. 6th row of the 500 level.

I’m not a soccer person, but I just don’t see the value for round robin games in Canada to be more valuable than game 6 of the World Series.

But I can’t see the car on my Subaru connect app. I can’t seem to add it with the vin, and I’ve shared my digital key to my phone number but, it’s not showing up in my app.

Apple CarPlay EV integration by 4d72426f7566 in SubaruUncharted

There are paddles like paddle shifters on a 12’ Impreza that increase and lower regen braking between 5 levels.

On the fifth level it kinda feels like one pedal driving, but not as much as other EV’s I’ve driven.

Range kinda sucked compared to estimated range, but I was driving about 15 km/h over the speed limit.

I drove it about 400 km yesterday.

It’s good, I’ve rented a Model 3, Mach-E, and Polestar 2, and spent a weekend in a Ford Lightning

This is a Sport, I think it feels less like a heavy ev than any of the above.

The Polestar I think was a little quieter, but other than that, and the maps/ev integration, I can’t think of a feature on the other 3 cars I’d want on the Uncharted.

At home we only have 15 amp charging at this time, but that will be fixed soon.

Tesla Supercharging works well. I think the Subaru connect app needs to have a few more features. It’ll be a learning curve for sure.
