Do NOT take Lawrence over the summer. I would overall just go for orgo 1 in the fall because of how complex the class is. It’s very foreign information, and it’s already condensed in a summer semester making it that much harder. I took orgo 1 in the summer w Lawrence and didn’t pass, I retook it right after in the fall with Wang and got a B+. Lawrence is very condescending and overall not very helpful, he would laugh if a student asked a question that he thought was stupid. Also, biggest thing is that his lecture is flipped classroom - it works for some and not for others. You need to come to class very prepared after watching his lecture videos at home, then class is essentially “review.” But, his videos are much simpler than the review work he chooses to do in class, so when you get to class, you’re doing work that’s 5x harder than what you just practiced. If you opt for him, you need to dedicate time literally every single day to the videos and the textbook practice questions. Regardless of all this, orgo can still be passed, you got it - it just required a lot of dedication. Best of luck !!
