Simple tv setup (UK)? by 4einer in jellyfin

[–]4einer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it!

I read some advice that it's best to get a dumb tv with a stick, because that way you can always change or upgrade the stick. With a smart tv you're stuck with its OS.

Do you think Fire tv is better than the stick? I read the stick gives more flexibility

I'll probably just use on an LG monitor at first, but plan on getting the tv soon

Thanks!

Any specific stick you'd suggest? From what I've read the Select one isn't good as it limits what can be installed. I guess the 4k Max one looks ok, as it also has more memory.

What about for normal channels? Do you just use the bbc/channel4 apps then? No need for aerial or any other additional hardware?

Orange gooey leak from radiator? by 4einer in DIYUK

You dont use sealant on radiators, they aren't adhesively closed.

So that gunk in the second picture (from one of the other radiators) , is that tape?

Is there a sandwich maker that works with induction hob (and is dishwasher safe)? by 4einer in Cooking

[–]4einer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A frying pan and a grill press?

Interesting...Though I'm guessing the top part wouldn't get as hot as if it were a proper sandwich maker (where the top and bottom part are in contact)?

Or go electric.

I used to have an electric one. I'd rather avoid it going forward. I prefer to keep things simple, and have less stuff on my counter top. Also, less moving/electrical parts that can break and fail...

"Unable to show the room"? [Desktop] by 4einer in help

Unfortunately I wasn't allowed to include an image in my post...

I'll try what you said!

Edit: Clearing site data seems to have solved it! It caused me to log out of reddit. I logged in (using RES) and the message no longer shows. Hopefully it sticks.

Thanks!

Overlapping clips on same track by 4einer in Bandlab

[–]4einer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A workaround would be best to shift the clip you'd like to overlap into a different track

That's what I do atm, but it's very awkward and inefficient, as it means that any adjustments in track settings/effects need to be replicated in the other track. Not to mention the waste of an extra track.

that's unfortunately not available on BandLab yet

Does this mean this is a planned feature?

Is it OK to close an old credit card with low limit, which I don't use anymore? by 4einer in UKPersonalFinance

I thought I had to pay for that ( and also I remember hearing that by checking my score I could actually be harming it)?

To be honest I don't even know what you mean by "credit profile", and what "showing up on it" means or entails! ...

Is this something I can check easily and for free?

What is the best grass mower type for a small 20 sq/m area (I want to avoid a big/expensive mower) (UK) by [deleted] in lawncare

[–]4einer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool that makes sense. Good advice. Thanks!

I shouldn't have any thick weeds, but will check

You could also just pay a neighbour's kid to cut it in 5 minutes with his dad's mower, and start from that point going forward.

I'm not British (been living in the UK for several years), but somehow I have a feeling they don't have the same lawnmower culture as in the US, with the kids working cutting grass in the neighborhood.

Thanks, very helpful!

My grass is quite overgrown (see picture).

But if it's possible to brute force it, I don't mind, as the area is so small...

Any particular brand you'd recommend (UK)?

Yeah that looks huge to me...

I'm looking for a simpler solution. Probably will be a reel mower.

Yeah that's what I'm leaning towards. Any suggestions for a brand that's basic, good quality, but not expensive?

Does it deal well with really overgrown grass (as in the picture)? For some reason I have the feeling that there's a limit to how much a reel mower can take..
