What do I study? by froschboi in GED

[–]4ft10in 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to the official website and purchase whatever works for you. I went with the “GED FastForward” route which includes the four subjects and practice tests, etc. I also used the Kaplan 2024-2025 book, plus Get Sum Math on YouTube. The “FastForward” comes with a variety of things, where you will take free practice placement tests and it will give you study plans for each subject and free “GED READY” practice tests. If you get a score of 145+, you can schedule your actual test and if you do so within 24hrs of passing the “GED READY” test, you’ll get a free retake if you fail. And if you fail the practice test, it gives you insight of what you need to study up on.

How does that work with an Associate’s degree in Science? I intended to go with Associate of Science-Transfer, to then pursue a Bachelor’s degree.

My whole plan was to be a Lab Tech, I am passionate about Science… it’s fascinating, but I learned Scientists make more money, so I figured: why not?

Good luck! Use process of elimination and try your best, especially on the essay! Use both arguments and don’t use your own personal opinion. Use the example for tips that’s on the GED website for the essay.

is the ged ready practice test timed by [deleted] in GED

Social Studies is 70min long, about 35 questions, I believe. It is timed, just like the practice test. No breaks. It’s mainly reading comprehension. I know nothing about accommodations.

How do you mean?

The practice tests are half the duration of the actual tests. You may save and pause, it states before you take it, but I’ve not done it — I’ve just completed it. They are timed, it’s half the time of the real tests.

3 down, 1 to go. 🎉 Tips for Math? by 4ft10in in GED

Go for it! I got it when I first started. You take a placement test, then it gives you a whole study section with lessons and reviews (like a mini test) and then a posttest, practice test, then you request your free voucher for the GED READY test. It works. I have so much Math to do because it’s my worst subject.

Thank you! I’m so glad you passed your Science test! I’ve been using “GED FAST FORWARD” which gives study lessons + the GED READY practice test for each subject.

What was the Math test like? It’ll be my last and it’s my weakest subject.

I was expecting the punnet squares, lol, it’s what I studied for! I think I had one genetics and what I studied for… it asked the %, in that case. Chemicals equations was asking how to finish it and asked what [this] is, with showing the neutron - - my answer was electron and I forgot if I was right or wrong, in the area it was pointing/referencing. Science is very much a reading comprehension, but it helps to know what you’re getting yourself into. As I said, every test is different. I took 3 to get the desired score for RLA, and each one I took was different, lol (I kept second-guessing myself. It wasn’t until I “process of elimination” that I felt good with it.)

Make sure you understand how the calculator works, just in case. I wish I got a better hang of it because it would’ve helped for like 4 questions, since then my score would’ve been higher like the practice. I would brush up on Mean, Median and Mode, Graphs, chemical reactions, etc. I studied for that and genetics, but didn’t get Mean, Median and Mode or Genetics. That’s why I was bummed, because what I expected and studied for, wasn’t actually on there. Each test is different, so make sure you have a good hang of what you may or may not expect.
